Hi I am new to photoshope elements. I love taking pictures and am just discovering all the things that can be done to enhance my pictures. But I am
also getting very confused -there is so much to do and so little time.:)

Karl,

Welcome to the family (oops forum). Yes, Elements does have a rather steep learning curve but stick to it and things will get easier. Have your subcribed? I you have not, it is well worth it - there are over 150 videos and nearly 100 tutorials available as well as the use of a gallery and a regular newsletter.

Don't be frightened to ask questions - there is no such thing as a "dumb" question :)

Karen

First dumb question is how do I download the brushes so they get to the correct place for their use? ( did it once with the chromes but can't
remember.:)

Hi Kar ...

Is this how to change the brush set in Elements (using the ones that are alrerady installed) ? If so then just click on the paint brush tool, look up to the top of the screen and click on the preview of the brush stroke itself and change the brush or change the brush set.

If you are asking how do you add new brushes (ones that you have downloaded) into Elements then you need to first lose down Elements.

Then go to your Adobe software folder and look in the folder marked presets.
Inside there you will find a whole series of folders.

Files ending in .abr go in the Brushes folder
.aco in the Colour Swatches folder
.csh in Custom Shapes
.grd in Gradients
.pat in Patterns
.asl in Styles

Hope this helps :)
