Transfer images from Mac to PC

My husband has an older Mac G3 that doesn't have a CD burner. He has Photoshop 5.5, but has never really used it much. I have a HP Pavillion laptop with PSE4. We'd like to get the photo files from the Mac into my PC. He's tried attaching the files to email and sending them to me, but PSE4 won't open them...says there's an "unknown or invalid JPG marker type". Can we get around this? (Neither of us is very computer-literate :o )

Hi. I'm a new Mac user (iMac) and was wondering about transfering files as well. I simply networked the Mac with the PCs and did the file transfer. I found that a direct Cat-5 cable connection worked best. Pretty neat.

My daughter does a lot of scrapbooking & transferring pics from one computer to a laptop & vice versa. She recently got a couple of cheap jump drives (thumb drives?) & they simply plug into a USB port. She's very happy with this method.

(Maybe I spoke too soon--she's going PC to PC.)

Betty, that sounds like an easy solution...too easy! I don't know, yet, but it seems like there would be an issue about the two different systems.

BTW, I checked out the link to dpreview you sent. I spent over an hour just reading the glossary, learning about things I didn't previously understand about digital photography. VERY HELPFUL!!!

Hi Janet ...

Get him to email another image to you then download a copy of Irfanview, open the image in Irfanview and then resave it as a jpg.

Elements should be able to open it :)
