Here's an overview of some of the new features in PSE5. Yes, it has Curves.

...and a "Feature Tour" here. http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshopelwin/

Looks like Windows only at this point. Just a thought here. I wonder if those who upgraded to PSCS2 will qualify for upgrade pricing on PSE5. I'm thinking probably not. Anyone know?

I checked out the videos in the Learning Center. There was one place where it showed Edit. I took a quick look at the Toolbox. It looked the same to me. Did I miss something? Does anyone know if any significant additions to Toolbox...Pen Tool???...just dreaming maybe?

Just placed my order with Adobe - estimated shipping date is 9-25-06. I'm still using Elements 2 and now that 2 weddings are over for the year, I hope to have time to learn some new things! I hope I'm not making too big of a jump from Elements 2 to Elements 5!!

Hi Rachel ...

There will be a learning curve but you know how to use all the tools etc so I don't think that you will have too many problems :)

Guess I'll have to come up with a reason I'm getting my Christmas presents in September? Oh, I know, I can say I need this upgrade so I can MAKE Christmas presents...

Sherry,
I'm tempted but I'm saving for a lens and Lightroom.

Eva,
I haven't played with Lightroom enough to know if I want it. Could always use new lens!!!!
I'm hoping the curves will help me edit the colors better.
But what I need right now is better web designing software--I'm very frustrated with what I have!!!!! (Not PSE)

I haven't even had enough time to learn PSE4...

I can't believe all the nice things that are added...

I will be sure to shadow Wendy...I know she and many of the others on these boards will have it mastered FOR SURE! :)
:p

Okay,so if I decide on Christmas in September, does anybody know how the current catalogue of pictures that I have in organzier will transfer. I would absolutley flip if I had to go back and re do all my tags and stuff. Also what will happen to pictures that are only thumbnails on my computer and not actually on the hard drive?

Some of the questions might be premature but I hope someone will have some info.

Hi Karen ...

When a new version comes out the catalogue should just convert :)
