I found a bit of history on the internet and saved it into my Word program. Is there a way to import it into PSE? I have done this in other programs and it works fine, but Elements won't let me so it. I'm working on a scrapbook page and want to put it into a text box. Is this doable?

You should be able to just copy and paste - although if memory serves you do need to have the text tool selected before you paste.

Hi Sharon
I would say the only way to do it is by saving the doc in a format that Elements recognizes.:confused:

oooops
Jane got it. :D
I was thinking more along the lines of importing the document.

Hi again,
I tried to copy paste with the text tool open and it still said it couldn't do it. I'm sure I must be missing something but I don't know what.
What would be a format Elements would recognize?
Thanks Sharon

I managed to put your post into a blank document as a test.
I highlighted the text ..picked copy (ctrl-C) then when I had the text tool picked I clicked on the document and picked paste. PE3
The problem I had, was no text box in 3, so the text ran off the document.
If you want to see what type of document Elements will open the just go to open and hit the little arrow and the list of extensions will show up.
Hope ths helps.:)

Thanks guys,
I got it! Jane was right it was copy/paste which is the first thing I tried but obviously I did something wrong. Anyway I went back and started poking around and finally got it. I'm still not sure what I did wrong the first time but all is ok now!
Thanks for the help! :)

When I was testing, I found I had to have "clicked" on the spot where the text would go (text tool), before Paste would work.

Sharon - Glad it worked for you... my bad for not making it clear that you had to actually click on the spot you wanted the text to start.
Gary - I work with PSE3 too..... the text box option in PSE4 is almost enough to make me want to upgrade - but I'm holding out for PSE5! :)

Jane
I'm thinking along the same lines.:D
I also liked the way they handled the layer linking in 4.

Gary - don't forget the magic extractor.... but I figure they will all be in PSE5 and maybe just maybe it will be out in a few months...I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed! :D
