Does anyone have experience with or opinions of solid ink color printers vs. color laser printers vs. color inkjet printers?
Quality of print?
Cost of consumables? (I know the color laser are quite expensive)
Life of one cartridge, block of ink, etc?
Anything else?
Our school is looking at purchasing a color printer, and I'm trying to educate myself.
Thanks!

All I've seen is is one of my customers (copy shop) switched to a Xerox colour solid ink printer. The prints were very good, but I don't know how they were in comparison to what he was printing (colour correctness). I never saw the originals.
It cost him about $1200 CDN did legal size and leter size.(not sure of weight though) He said if he had to do it again he would go with an 11x17 capable one.
I have no idea if what he said was true but he told me it cost him about 8 cents a page. Sounded cheap to me but ????
Aside from that sorry, I can't help. I tend to deal more with the bigger copier/printer type of machines (mostly Canon) but at this point there are few around that are fairly inexpesive with very good quality.
That market seems to have gone the way of "business colour" :(
