Thanks to all who started this today--this seems like magic to me! Still have to practice & get it down to exactly what's in my head. But thank you, Diana, for the extra instructions & to "trola" for starting a gallery with this edge effect! I'd never seen these before. This one turned out "glassy" looking.

Betty, It looks wonderful. :) I spent about an hour playing and couldn't get anything to look good. :( Finally decided... it's not me. It's the photos. But then I took them.
Hopefully something will come to me.

Betty,
I was just thinking the same as Terry. It looks just like a frosted window on a winter day! Beautiful. :)

Thank you, all!
Kimi--because of you and your texture directions, I fiddled with the frame and then saved it as a psd to use it on itself. Is that a valid application of your directions? Or?

You know I had thought of that myself. I just couldn't make anything work. I love how we pick up something new here everyday! :D

Colleen--I got my start here from Diana:
http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13137
Farther down she gives the link to the edges at About.com(message #4).
Yes, that's "Daisy," our Westie--4 years old & full of life! Pure terrier through & through!
Gotta run now & get dinner going!

Ok, I have the instructions and have the site for downloading the mask. They are jpg's. So where do I download and install too. Maybe I am just getting tired or having one of those blonde moments but I don't see it on the site. It says right click and "save target as". Ok, I get that. Where do I put them in Elements to use them. :(

Kim--you don't need to "install" them anywhere. Treat them as pictures. Here's how to use them:

Betty, thanks. I have the instruction but I thought I was missing something somewhere. So it is basically just putting two pictures together. Got it now. Thanks again.
BTW, beautiful gallery.

Betty..........
That is simply EXQUISITE. I just adore it. The picture itself is BEAUTIFUL and the way you have presented it is MAGIC! For me, this is one of the loveliest images I've seen posted here.
BEAUTIFUL WORK!

I just had a quick look at the site. There are so many of them. Did you download them all or just select a few...........hard to select a few though, and very time consuming looking at them all and deciding what's the best........which you probably can't tell anyway until you actually use them! :D Has anyone looked at them all and come up with a 'best ones' list?

I've had a play with a few.................the creative possibilities are ENDLESS............. this could be a late night! :D
EDIT: I've had a quick whip through them and the 'must have one' is the one that you have used Betty. There are some other quite good ones, but a lot of them are very similar to one another.

I've used one of the edge masks and adapted it slightly and also used Kimi's texture technique (just lightly).

Thank you, Dennis & Robyn!
Robyn--we never seem to be on-line at the same time due to geography! Thank you for your extreme compliment! As you said, there are so many frames that are similar. I think Wendy said yesterday that she didn't keep all of the frames & I surely won't either. I really like the one that you put in your gallery. On the treatment of the flower, did you accentuate the edges with a filter or? It looks so 3-D! Very pretty!

hi Betty ...
Its a long time since I downloaded them ... and a lot were very similar so I only kept a few of the really nice ones. :)
You can actually make some nice ones of your own ...

I've just saved the image as a psd. and then used it as a texturizer filter (a la Kimi).

Oh, wow! Thanks, Nancy! You're getting to be such an expert with all the gadgets we're collecting! Rudy looks so cute when he's smiling! How do you do that?
P.S. My husband just walked by, so I showed him your Rudy animation and he really laughed, & said, "How come YOU can't do that?!?"

I just used the smudge tool to "stretch" his mouth. I did the animation in Image Ready which is part of the CS2 suite. That is my first creation from there. I did it! I finally used the suite!

Nancy, that is too cute. If this is the start of a budding romance between Rudy and Daisy, when they have puppies I want dibs on one.

Thanks everyone. It was just sort of a moment of silliness and I had no clue how to do animation so I pulled up a tut on another site and it was only for full Photoshop so I gave it a shot and it worked! Diana, I used Robyn's idea of deleting the black and then drew a gradient over the remaining selection and it turned out pretty cool.
