Millie In Orb(it)

Hi,
remembering the fun I had with orbs, thought I would do one.
Made an orb of Millie, removed it from its background. Then put it back over the original photo and resized it to look like it was part of the original.
The orb is not quite circular but that is due to my lack of control with the mouse.

Kev, that is so precious. I gotta admit I am a little confused here though. I thought that was the bubble effect and an orb was a round distortion. :confused:

You're quite right about the orb effect being a distortion but if you do one orb and then do it again you get an undistorted image.

Thanks Kev. I have only done two orbs and the first one I forgot to crop to make it square and the second I cheated and used Wendy handy tool and fairies.:D

I always use Wendy's orb action, why do it the hard way when Wendy (God Bless her) has made it painless. It's not cheating, it's just like using Enhance instead of Levels.

glad you like it.
I can assure the orb was made using Wendy's Orb tool. It's a matter of words, an orb is not necessarily a bubble but a round bubble is an orb!
Now I'm confused.

I really need to install Wendy's orb action. I have downloaded it but I haven't gotten the nerve yet to try and install it, I know it is probrably pretty easy. Can I just copy the file and paste it in the folders where it needs to go, and then erase the neccesary items?

Just install it in Effects and then delete the three files in the Effects and Filters Cache. Don't do it with Elements running. When you open windows the caches are rebuilt, give it a minute or two then enjoy making orbs.
Be warned - they are addictive.

Thanks Kev. I will try installing it tonight after work. They are addicting, I have made a few so far the hard way(not really hard but more work than Wendy's orb action). Hope your recovery is going well and you keep improving. Take care
