Is $159.99 a good deal on this tablet? I know best buy had the other on sale, but I missed it....went to order ..... sale over... saw this one today elsewhere and that includes shipping so I figured I would see what everyone thinks.

Colleen,
No that seems high, I paid apprx $99.00 at Compusa--it could have been on sale at the time. But check around first.
Oops what size?

Oh, Sherry, I should have said that was for a 6 x 8 tablet. I looked at compusa and theirs were all over $200. I know the one that was on sale last week was the 4 x 5 I believe.....

Or is yours 6 x 8?

'cause, I CAN wait if that is a high price!:D

Thanks for your input! That still may be a high price, I see what others think, but now that you mention it, with all the piles around my computer, I may never be able to find a place for it!

Colleen, most places sell the Graphire 4 6x8 for $199.99. So, yes, with shipping included that is a good price.

Colleen, maybe you can exchange the books for the PSE4 versions.

I have been wanting to play with my new Wacom all day. I got the bluetooth adapter this afternoon and have everything installed but I am just too tired to do it tonight. Maybe tomorrow after the test.

BTW, it came with PSE2 not 3 like said. I have 3, is there anything in PSE2 different that I would want to install it. Or should I just forget about it and give it to my neighbor like I was going to do with PSE3. I installed Corel Essentials 2 and the nik Color Efex Pro 2.0 GE.

Kim if it came with PSE 2 it's older stock.

No Jodi, still waiting for my prize too. Wonder if it got lost in the mail?? :(
I'm really anxious for the scrapbooking stuff as I am working on wedding photos and would love some new ideas.

Hey Pauline, well I'm glad I'm not alone ! Was worried they scratched me off the list ! As well I am anxious for 'new' stuff to play with. I could have sworn they said 3-4 weeks..hmmmm, seems like it's been 8 so far ( I know I'm exagerating but it feels that way )

Colleen, the tablet I got is Bluetooth Wireless so I needed an adapter for my laptop because it is not bluetooth.

Pauline, I go it new in package on ebay at a great price but it just happens to be one that was on the shelf a while. I went to Wacom's site and downloaded the newest drivers for it to make sure it was up to date.

ok, I am still clueless......should I look and see if this one is bluetooth? and what is the benefit? and if my computer isn't bluetooth, does any of it matter?????

Colleen, The only advantage of the bluetooth over the one you are looking at is that there are no wires connecting it to your computer. Its like something being infrared. The only wires are to recharge the battery when it gets low. If your computer is not bluetooth compatible you would need an adapter so you computer could read it, other wise it won't work. Hope this makes more sense.

ok, gottcha! Are they usually USB if not bluetooth? I have two or three usb ports in the front of my computer, but not using a wire might not be a bad idea......

Yes, the newer ones are USB. I don't think they have made the 9 pin plug in a couple of years.

Well, you're all ahead of me. I know nothing about the wacom but am interested in knowing more. Should I go to their site? What is an adequate size (since there seem to be sizes)? I have figured out it is an aid to drawing and I spend a lot of time making visual aids for Bible class (that was the original reason for PE4 - though I have to say, I have used it for a LOT more). Sometimes I scan color books and the lines don't go to the edge. I can't color them without finishing the lines and it is TRICKY to do that with a roller ball mouse (ewww). Someone that has a wacom and really knows what they are doing - can you give me an overview of what is the best way to go and what it can do?

Leslie:

Mine arrived yesterday! I love it! I now it will take some getting used to, but I love my new toy already. Just so you know I have been playing with it:http://www.pixentral.com/hosted/1tD2ZjlnaPBy8LUqJCr5Rn2tudWB0_thumb.jpg (http://www.pixentral.com/show.php?picture=1tD2ZjlnaPBy8LUqJCr5Rn2tudWB0)

I got mine at costco.com. It is 4x8. Model CTE-640. I think the possibilities with this are just endless!!!!!!! Oh, mine was 159. Now I just need to learn it and use it! I would be interested in someone experienced with it posting too! 'Cause I know nothing!!!!!!!!

I had to 'force' myself to get used to it at first. Now I can't be without it when I am working in Elements. Gets temperamental though. Seems if I leave it sit for too long it won't work when I pick it up unless I restart my computer. Tends to make me use it more for other tasks.
I payed $80.00 several months ago through an educational website. It came with a lot of software including Elements 3.
4x5 tablet. Seems an okay size so far but I am new at this.

Thanks Jan! I will go and check them out!

Colleen,
You are welcome! :)

Kimh,
I had some trouble as first getting used to it but one of the guys on the forum suggested adjusting the sensivity of the pen. That did the trick for me. Before that I was opening and closing and dragging things all over the place!!! :D

I have the 4 x 5 size too and it is ok for what I do. I have trouble sometimes because I use 2 monitors and 1\2 of the tablet is one screen and 1\2 the other. But... doing tutorials is so much easier using 2 monitors. I can watch one and play on the other!
