IV'e been using Elements for about a year to manage and process my digital photographs with a lot of success.
I just purchased CS2 and was wondering if any of you went this route and how dificult it is to convert over.
Right now my main concern is how to get all of my pictures from the Elements browser into the bridge.
Thanks

I took advantage of that special offer and did the same thing. I haven't had any problems converting although I did need to buy a couple of books to figure out how to use the new features that you can't do in Elements. At the same time I haven't really converted. I use both - in fact I use all three PSE3, PSE4 and CS2. And I haven't bothered to convert from Organizer to Bridge as they really are different. Bridge is more a file browser than an organizer (although I haven't really got that deep into it). I like the fact that in Organizer I can see all my pictures without worrying about folder structures. So I import into Organizer and have CS2 set as an alternate editor (so Ctrl-I opens the file in Elements, Ctrl-H opens the file in CS2). I still do most of my editing in Elements and use CS2 for things I can't do in Elements (like selecting using the pen tool). In fact I've been using CS2 to create actions that I can use back in Elements - sky replacement for example and that recent Dave Cross painterly video.
Whether this is the most efficient way to work I don't know but so far it's working for me and as I can do my basic photo editing in Elements in half the time it takes me to do it in CS2 I'll probably continue that way :)

PS Should add that right now I have PSE3 Editor, Organizer, CS2 and Bridge all open at the same time and they all seem to work quite happily together - so far :D

That's how I'll probably end up using both, thanks for your input, much appreciated.

Hi ...
I think that the best way to learn is to stop using Elements for a few weeks and use CS2 only  ... things are in different places in the menus and I think you have a better chance of learning it if you stick with CS2 until you get the hang of it :)

Wendy: That's probably good advice although I'd be afraid I'd forget where things were in Elements :D . I should have said that I did have a bit of an advantage as I'd taken some hands-on training using CS during the lessons and doing the homework in Elements so I sort of got used to switching between the two and knowing the different places to look for things.

I also just purchased the CS2 program, but the guy from Adobe made it sound like to upgrade I would lose my Elements 3 . I also want to be able to keep both programs. Did anyone else run into this problem?

It is a great offer isn't it! I just bought it too. A little scary as I have only just touched the surface with PSE3 and still have a LOT to learn...but I had been thinking about upgrading for a while...

You won't lose Elements when you instal CS2. Heck When I installed PSE4 on my computer, I still had 3.0 and when I installed CS2 I still had CS... 4 versions of PS on the same machine. Doh!

I also agree with Wendy. I took the upgrade offer for CS2 and quickly decided that the only way to learn my way around was to use it exclusively for a while. I do share Tony's fear of forgetting where everything is in Elements, but I can't seem to remember anything these days, yet somehow I muddle through! I expect I'll be using both programs for their respective advantages, provided I can remember what they are:)

Hi Steve ...
I left you this message in another thread :)
All he means is that because you have upgrading using this offer then you will not be able to sell or give away the copy of Elements (there won't be a way to change the resistration). You don't actually lose it and you can indeed carry on using it
... Sadly this upgrade is an offer that they never make in the UK
