While we are all playing with the new slats effect .. I Loved how Kev did the Celtic cross and thought I would play a little bit with the Old Utah Mill photo I took. I think it turned out pretty good!

Thanks Wendy .. we were posting at the same time. I agree that no matter what the effect it has the operators personal touch on it and they all are different!

Christine,
IMHO you made a great job of it. That's one of the joys of elements, everyone can take a basic idea and then adapt to their taste.

Thank You! I think I might have this one printed. It is of an old Mill in southern Utah that I zoomed in on and I just love how it turned out!

Wow Christine, that is really beautifull, you should have that printed. Is there a tutorial somewhere for the slat effect?

I just tried it but can't get anywhere with it. I get lost after making duplicate the image.

Bob, after you duplicate your picture (layer) so you have 2 layers that are of your picture. Trim the bottom layer by using the marquee (rectangle) and deleteing a small section from the top and bottom. You will not see it unless you turn off the top layer but you will be able to see it in your layers pallet.

I am soooo not good at directions so I am hoping someone else can help. I always feel like I talk in circles when I try to help :o
