I have been trying for days now to create a mirror image, like a reflection of a picture (of a person/s) but I am not having much luck:eek: . Most tutorials on reflection, mirror, etc... are of still life and that's just not working ~~~ I would greatly appreciate some help in any direction you may have. I am fairly new to PSE4 and not overly knowledgable on previous PSE 2 & 3

Hi Trola

Without seeing the photo it is a little hard to give specifics (like I could anyway :D)
The general way is to make a duplicate layer of whatever it is you want mirrored and then, using the move tool on the duplicate, drag it through itself so it is reversed and move it into position.
I think there also is a layer>flip menu selection you could use on the duplicate and move it to position again.

Hope this helps.:)

Trola, if you have a gallery you can post there or go to www.pixentral.com and you can upload free there and copy the link into the thread. So save for web and make photo a minimum of 750 at the widest point apply and then ok and then you just upload to pixentral and post like I described above.

What part of Michigan are you from?

 I just started a gallery and added the photo surprisingly called 'reflections' This is grandaughters dance school and a image I am trying to make for a scrapbook I plan on adding individual close-ups of each girl ... there is something missing from the reflection (I think) I just don't know what to do to make it more relistic? it suppose to look like a compact:(

Trola, I too am near GR, actually the southeast suburb of Kentwood. There are several of us here from Michigan as well as some who used to live here and miss it alot.

Go to your gallery and copy the link for it and then go to your profile and edit signature and paste the gallery link with your signature. That way everyone can see the image to be able to help you better.

I'm a little late to this thread, but I've got a video on creating a mirror/smear effect here (http://www.graficalicus.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index&req=viewdownloaddetails&lid=14) (you'll have to log in to watch it, though) -

or check it out on my GraffiTV Photoshop Podcast - iTunes has it (search "graffi"), or plug this link into your favorite newsreader:

Make sure your photo you're adding meets the size specifications. 72 ppi, not larger than 700 pixels at widest point and 300K or smaller.

Hi Trola ...

You need to make sure that you have made one of your images the main image (click on the button below anyone of the images) ... until you do that the gallery doesn't have a image to link to so it won't show up :)
