View Full Version : Bulk Convert CR2 Files to Tif/Jpg AND keep in Version Set.

Hi all,

I found that there is a bug with including Raw (.cr2 files at least) in a slide show (lots of Raw files with short Slide Durations and/or Transitions)

PSE 4.0 Slideshow WMV Goes Black

What I am trying to do is convert all my unprocessed Raw (.cr2) files in my Collection (basically the group for my slide show) to Jpg or Tif (maintain original resolution) AND create a Version Set with each original Raw file.

From Organizer, I can do :
Find | Details
"File Type" is "Camera Raw" +
"Collection" is "xxx" (My collection in question)

From here, I can Export, but that won't create Version Sets.

Anyone have any ideas?

I have looked inside the editor itself, looks like you can do a bulk conversion of everything in a particular folder, but when I tested that, it didn't create Version Sets.

Thanks in advance,

Ward Grant

Glen, there was a similar question earlier this month. The hiccup is version sets, which is kind of a special subset of stacked sets. I don't know of a way to do it bulk at one time. There is a kind of sleight-of-hand trick that another forum user posted, which I have included below.

Barb Olson posted this answer in the Adobe forum, but it is kind of neat to know.

http://photofanatic.com/topics/add_version.php

has a description of how to manually create a version set. However the process is tedious so not everyone decides that they wish to do it. I suspect that they decide to compromise and use a Stack.

Thanks Ward,

I've seen that neat little trick, but not something I'd like to do to 90+ photos for this slideshow (plus the remaining 1600 for the other 10 or so slideshows).

I wonder if this problem exhibits itself for DNG files? If not, then perhaps you can batch convert from CR2 to DNG first.
