Ahhhhh! You guys are the BEST!!!! Thanks you, Thank you, Thank you to all my new friend! You have no idea how much enjoyment and knowlege you have brought to me! I appreciate all the help you have each given me since I have been on the forum! What a great group of kind people you are!

I must also say that I was so happy to wake up and see the release of Steve Cenntani and Olaf Wiig today....nice birthday present (and I have probably spelled both names wrong!

School usually started about a week after mine. Yesterday I was 54 but it was also the 86th anniversary of the passage of the 19th amendent (August 26,1920) giving women the right to vote.:D

Happy Birthday Colleen. Thank you for being such a great participant and sharer (word?) on this forum. Hope you have a great family day. Yes, for me the August birthday always signifies the end of summer. In Vancouver we have the PNE which is a big fair and exhibition that lasts for two weeks. It always starts the weekend of the 21st - my birthday. Everyone feels when the PNE comes summer is over and everything returns to normal routine. We have been going to the fair for over 50 years.

Shari & Jodi, I was thinking of my mother today.....I always tried to remember to get her a little present on my birthday to thank her for all she did for me on this day in 1954, and today, with all the work for Kelly's shower yesterday.....:eek: I FORGOT:eek: . Being the kind of mother she is, I know she didn't expect anything, but I will have to do something this week for her....she is 86.

Anyway...back to my story....she told me once (or twice) how she hated the fact that I used to wish for my birthday as soon as August 1 came around. She said to her, when my birthday came, summer was over and she always loved the summer!!!!! I do too, and now I am not anxious for my birthday to appear......

Colleen -- I cannot believe I missed your birthday!! I am so ashamed! Happy Birthday my friend!!! I hope you had a very happy one! Did you get anything cool that you can use for photographing or the likes? Or anything else really fun??? Every time I purchase something my wife says "happy birthday" or "happy father's day" or "merry christmas" - whatever we are the closest too. Sometimes all three at the same time. Then when my birthday or Christmas comes, I get nothing and she reminds me that I already got my presents. It doesn't seem fair. Oh well. :) Hopefully that's not the case with you!!!

Yes, I did get a couple of goodies! My kids actually got me two PSE books that I didn't have but, I haven't really had the time to go through them yet! My mom and my father-in-law gave me $$$, so I just today added a little to it and ordered a Wacom tablet from Costco.com! I am so excited!!!!!! So, even thought it was #52, it was a great birthday!!!!

We do have something else in common! My husband does the same thing your wife does! A few years back, I got my first ticket....speeding:eek: :D , It cost $153. :twisted: it was late November and my husband just smiled when I told him and said "Merry Christmas!!!!!:eek: He does that to me all the time, but still he will get me a little something ...... My Dad never bought my mom presents, but always told her throughout the year: If you want something go get it! Actually, that's kinda nice!!!
