Does anyone know where the Slide Show Configuration Files are stored?

I don't mean the output (wmv), I mean the file that contains the definition/references to all the photos/videos, transitions, etc that you worked hard to set up. . .

It looks like there is some kind of slide show corruption and I'm hoping I can take a look at the file and figure it out.

The slide show looks ok in the Slideshow edit mode, however, the resultant .wmv (NTSC-DVD) had black frames between locked slides, odd transitions, and then about 1/3 way through goes completely black.

When I was editing the slideshow, I accidently did a few "Add another transition" then found that you cannot simply delete that slide as the locked transition appears to remain.

I strongly urge you to put off for now exploring the Organizer catalogs as the core of your current problems. I suspect that you might unknowingly generate more problems in a search that will lead you back to the Organizer Screen with the Creation thumbnail (see below).

Miscellaneous Details

I am not sure where you are with respect to the Organizer, so I will start at the beginning...
The Organizer just displays the thumbnails for the images on the hard drive.
Creations are stored only in the Organizer/Catalog (Database containing image information) You cannot export them.
Your wmv written from the Creation can be stored in a place such as Documents/My Videos as well as in the Organizer.
You can edit the Creation, but not the wmv.
To get to a creation: you can go File/Open Creation. If it is there, just double click to open it.
To get to the working Catalog: you can go File/Catalog or the long way around which is Documents and Settings/All Users/All Applications/Adobe/Catalogs. Going into this catalog is what I am suggesting you avoid at this stage.

Suggested Plan of Action

Your slideshow that should have:
A version saved as Creation in the Organizer (it will have a yellow tag)
A version saved in the Organizer as wmv (it will have a blue tag)
A version saved as wmv in a place such as Documents/My Videos

Can you click on its Creation version in the Organizer? If so, start there and check out and edit that version. It would be a good idea to do a short test project to see if that suffers from the same problems.

Are your images landscape or horizontal?

Could use some details on what is happening to the wmv after it is written and upto the point of viewing.

Now let us get to how you are viewing this project. Is the Preview OK in the Organizer before and after the writing to wmv?

Next, when you see these strange results, what is the project (wmv, DVD-VIDEO, VCD, CD, other) on what (CD, DVD,..) and what are you using for viewing TV/DVD player, Window Media Player, a program such as PowerDVD, other?

Last questions for now. Are you working with a tryout version of software? What are you using... Photoshop Elements 3.0 or 4.0 or one of those in combination with Premiere Elements 2.0 or other?

I will watch for your progress.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

Yeap, I found the slideshow info in the psa yesterday. Wonderful that it is stored as a blob. . .

Turns out my problem didn't have anything to do with bad transitions, it had to do with Camera Raw files and lots of short Slide Durations and/or Transitions.

I have a very detailed post out on the Adobe site with my troubleshooting process. It was a real pain to find this out. I have a new question now that I've found a work around to this bug, but will put it in a new thread.
