On the Google website they have a video that is great. Its called Amazing Circles. The guy shows you how to make circles very similar to the Orb. I don't know if that's how its done but the finished product looks very much like it. If anyone wants to try it: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-2414706801688631533
Also they have other videos that are worth watching. One on layers and other things.

The Amazing Circle is so much fun but what do you do with them after you do them. It only takes a minute to do one. Do you frame them or just save them?
Wendy

Hi Caroleen ...
Most of the addiction is just making them ... although I do remember that several people used them to create images.
One I remember was lots of them on one page ... it looked really pretty sadly I can't remember who did it :)

Wendy, I know this subject doesn't go to this thread but here is the email I received from the folks about signing in:

Betty, I think they're wonderul framed. I've used them 3-up & 9-up for a greeting card. Lately, I've been using the kaleidoscope filter, then the orb effect for unusual orbs. Once you start, you can't stop.

Nita--I remember how hard it was to stop! So I'm not going to start THAT up again! But I sure like to see everyone's new orbs! With your creativity, yours will be ultra-impressive!
The dates of my files are in February, 2006. So that's when the Orb Fever was going around since I've been here.

Betty, your orbs are beautiful!
I never thought of putting them together like that!
I was thinking about doing several and having them printed then hanging them up on display, I thought that would look nice.

Christine--Wendy, Jodi Frye, & several other forum members brought this to a high art! (Just kidding!) I learned so much then about PSE in general. But you can put clear bevels, layer styles, and lighting filters on them to brighten them up. The possibilities are endless!
The one on the left that I did is an orb of a painting with my signature brush & scribbling.
I tried to find our old posts, but I think some things were lost in that "Great Crash" we had awhile ago.
Nancy had some beauties!

I had another idea for these:
Set the Mode to Fixed Size.
Set the width and height to 5 inches.
Click the image to create the selection.
Create the globe effect.
Don't deselect. Go to Image > Crop
Set the same dimensions for the Elliptical Marquee
Click and centre the selection
Inverse the selection
Fill with white
Go to File > Picture Package
Select 2x 5x7
Print it
Cut the circles out and stick them to either side of an old CD
From there you could make them into individual hanging decorations, a mobile or cover them with clear vinyl and use them as coasters.

How'd you do the plate?
Robyn
August 27th, 2006, 09:27 AM
Thanks guys. Just a cut and shut orb.......and the plate (which didn't start out to be a plate) was just a piece of glass I'd made and had on file which I coloured and 'squished' around and put a gold bevel stroke outline around the edge. :D
12.30 a.m. here.........I really must go to bed.

Gee thanks Betty, mine aren't impressive, but they're sure fun. I have an entire folder on my h.d. dedicated to orbs & one for kaleidoscope. You never know when you can use one or portions of one. I included a couple as "brads" in a scrapbook kit & I've used them as a tag (cut out a hole in the top, add the plastic filter, add a silver rim if you want...). Same with kaleidoscope - I love kaleidoscoping then orbing. C'mon Betty... betcha can't do just one again. ;)
Here's an example kaleidoscoping a beach scene, then making 4 different orbs all from the same photo.

Caroleen--
I used a video tutorial from the subscribers area called SKETCH. If you are a subscriber, go to the Subscriber Area>Videos and then down to the Sketch tutorial. It was put in there on June 30, 2006.
If you are not a subscriber, let me be the first to recommend that you subscibe. It is so worth the price with all the video and written tutorials that are there.
If you are a subsciber, disregard what I just said.

Actually it is from the "How to create Amazing circles" page - not the one listed above....
