--new user---

I just completed my first project using layers, I was so proud -- it is sort of a collage of six pictures: five taken with my digital camera, the other scanned.

I decided to turn it into a jigsaw puzzle -- uploaded the jpeg to a photography shop who does that sort of thing.

They came back and said that they recommended an upload with a minimum of 1000X800 pixels. Mine didn't.

How do I control things like # of pixels? I had all I could handle just getting my little layered collage together. What should I have done?

Hi, Here's a thread that I found helpful.

Another nifty tip is to search in this forum through the Google toolbar if you have it. I think it was Tony who pointed that out

Did you use that scan from the other thread (640 by 456 pixels) as the background? If so, you may still have to go back and re-scan at a higher resolution.

The two scanned pictures I used were different -- how do I chose a resoution for a scanned image? So far I just SCAN and in PSE4 OPEN. I haven't seen any option as to resolution.

Thanks for your advice.

I'm afraid I can't help you with the scanning. You need to check the scanner manual how to set the resolution. Then scan to a file, which you open with PSE.
