Trying to change green background to white, then relace SKB with text and change image+text color to blue, how can this be done?

Hi ...
... and weicome to the forum :)
To be honest I think that it would be quicker to start again and just use this image as a template :)

Tried using MS paint, but somehow the quality isn't the same. Thanks for the response.

Hi Ted ...
I did this very quickly ...
I created a new file in Elements:
File>New>Blank File 2040 pixels x 2260 pixels resolution 300 mode RBG background white.
Then I created a new layer above it and changed my foreground colour to blue
Next used the Polygonal lasso to make the sails and did Edit>Fill.
Same for the line under the word sails.
Next text tool and type in sails ... pressing the space bar to get the spacing right.
... and that was it :) ... all you then need to do is add text in the space ..

EDIT ... If you can't draw the sails then add the original image to the new file ... resize it using the move tool and them simply use that as a guide.

Looks great, thanks Wendy. Since you are an expert may I ask another question? I am creating a page banner for a new site and I am placing a pic of life rings (life preservor) in this page banner. Do you how I can give the life rings a shadow affect? You know like if they are embedded in the page banner by default.

Hi Ted ...
Here are couple of ways of doing that for both you will need then to be on their own layer.
First one is to add a drop shadow layer style and the other is where the shadow is added on its own layer a little more complicate but much more flexible.
I did a mini tutorial on that and its on the forum .. here is the link:
Drop Shadow on its own layer (http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1784)
You will also find it in Wendy's Mini Tutorials (http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3641)
Hope this helps :)

I read your mini tutuoral, but my life ring has white background even between the ring. Even if I cut and paste onto a new layer, shadow it, how can I place it in a blue page banner. There is no blank/colorless background option.

Hi Ted ...
Once tou have cut it out and pasted it onto its own layer you can then either just switch off the background layer (go to the layers palette and click on the little eyeball next to the background layer)
.. or you can delete it. (again go to the layers palette click on the background layer the do layer delete layer)
Do let us know how you go on with it :)
