Whoa! Are you sure you are talking to me?????????? Thank you! I am just starting to completely redo my gallery. I just got back from vacation and have a ton of pictures to use! I am really not very good at this, but I do try lots of different things.....at least once! The sunset was super easy. Listen, if I can do it, so can you! Really! All I did was to use the rectangle tool and make a selection around that inside part. Then I went to SELECT>INVERSE. That put two sets of "marching ants" around the outside part that has the texture. I then right clicked inside that outside area and hit LAYER VIA COPY. I put a HUE ADJUSTMENT LAYER (on the layer palette) and hmmmm....I think all I did was use the lighten slider to make the outside section lighter. I clicked ok and then put my cursor on the line between the two layers (cutout and adjustment layer) and while holding the alt key I clicked to attach that adjustment layer attached to that outside border. I will have to look, I may have added a drop shadow....... I then went up to FILTER>TEXTURIZER>CANVAS and I will have to get back to you on the settings I used. It was pretty low though, maybe 3.....forget what the setting was called. (I got that idea from Kev's post today and the end of the new watercolor tutorial in the subscriber section)
I know this sounds hard, but trust me, if I can do it so can you! I will be happy to help you if you want to try it. Feel free to send me a PM or repost and we'll work through it together......and yes, the moose was done very similarily.....you can do that too!!! HONEST, YOU CAN! I would be very happy to help you!
Thanks for that very kind thread! You made my day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks! I thought I was maybe making a nusiance of myself :o , so I posted a few in my gallery.
It is so hard for me to believe that someone thinks my work is worthy of a thread! Blows my mind! I love this forum, I have learned so much and still most times feel like such a beginner! Heck, I have only been at this 8 months! Glad you like the moose and sunset. I have another shot of that sunset with a bit more vibrant orange, was just playing with that......maybe I'll have more time to play tomorrow:D !
Thanks Kay!

Umm, Colleen- this forum is about photos and PSE, see, and the people who read the forum, well, they generally like pictures and seeing people's unique perspectives and then how they PSE'd them. So, share away!!! And, anyway, you've been away for awhile, so you're under your quota of posts for August...:D

Hi Colleen,
your gallery is great. Love the new pictures - and what you did with them. Your photography ain't too shabby either. It's the person behind the camera with the vision that makes a great picture. Just super!

Wow ! Never thought my post could/would make someone so happy. I went sailing last weekend & got some beautiful sunset pics. The line of hills is not good & I thought maybe what you did would really fix it up. I really appreciate your offer to help me. I am going away on holiday soon untill mid Sept, but will get in touch when I get back.
Thanks .Storm

Colleen..........
I think I commented in another thread  how much I liked the lighthouse pic. If I didn't (and it is hard to keep up with all these threads) I certainly meant to. It's a great shot.
