View Full Version : Adding animation to sig tag

I have Elements 4 and enjoy doing sig tags. Up till now I've only done static ones and am trying to learn how to add animation to them. I'd like to be able to add small animations like hearts, stars, etc. I've read what tutorials I could find but couldn't find any that shows what I'm interested in doing.
When I have tried to add layers to animate something, I get confused. All I end up getting is a preview in the Save for the web screen that cycles through all the layers of the tag not just the animation.
Could anyone help with this ??
Thanks

We may be calling the same thing different names. I have not heard the term sig tag. Are you talking like the image at the top of my reply, the o-silly-scope with the name crawl?
If yes, then we can get you instructions for that very easily
Oh, sorry, forgot the welcome to the forum greeting.

Thanks so much for your kind welcome.:)
Sorry I should have used the term signature tag. It's different from what you're referring to - an avatar - but should help all the same, I think.
I'll attach one of the signature tags that I've made for a forum just to show you an example.

I had to do a web search on animated signature tags as I have not used these before. It is amazing what you can download, including one site that was "adult-themed". (honestly, it just came up in my search queue.)
You may want to wait for some others to respond, but it looks like they are simply animated GIFs, just like the avatars.
If I read your post correctly, you know how to make them, just not how to show the animation. Try these settings in your Save For Web screen:
Under Presets: GIF 128 Dithered and GIF
Be sure Animate box is checked
At the bottom is a Preview In icon-clicking on this will bring up your default browser and the animation will run.
