I am trying to do some new-to-me things and do not understand how all this stuff works. I have a scanner and have used it lots to scan into elements. No problem. Today a friend wanted me to scan an invitation for her then e-mail it to her so she could send it to others. When I scan it it automatically defaults to PSE3 so when I mail it to her it has all those attached messages from PSE. Then I attached it as an individual attachment but the message still says it was sent from Adobe Photoshop. Now I e-mailed to myself to see how it would work and then it automatically defaults and opens in PSE3. So then when I send someone else something I am not sure how it looks to them as they do not have PSE3. Am I making sense?? Can I scan to another programme so it will have nothing to do with PSE? I get confused with all this. Another thing that I did not like was when I e-mailed to myself it came as Spam: You have received photos from Adobe Photoshop. Don't know why. Maybe that is why I don't get responses to some I e-mail - they delete them before looking!!! Thanks for any help.

Shari- I think your post got overlooked, so I'm responding mainly to bump it to the top again.

I generally don't use PSE mail- I attach a .jpg file to my email and send it. The picture will then open on the recipient's computer in whatever program they have set their default to. So, if you scan the photo, manipulate it in PSE if you want to enhance it, save it as a .jpg, and then attach it as a file to your email message, you should be fine.

Thanks Kay, I may have not explained that well. I did figure out another programme to scan to. I also found I have an OCR (Optical Character Recognition) programme which I spent some time investigating. I scanned a page from the paper and was able to add words in the same font - now along with these photos we can produce - I don't know whether I should believe anything anymore. Thanks for bumping it up tho - that was a nice thought. I have also copied your reply as I will try that way.
