Hi,
have just put this image, using one of my framing techniques, into my gallery. Hope you like it.
Glen Coe is a very beautiful place but has a violent history.

That's beautiful Kev! I love the way you put the stroke of green on both the inside and outside of that wonderful "matting" ! Can I assume you use the canvas texturizer on it??? It really looks stunning! Hard to believe such a beautiful, tranquil-looking place today can have had a violent history!

As usual, nicely done Kev!

Colleen,
pleased you like it. The texture was done using Sandstone.
Glen Coe was the home of the clan McDonald who had a long standing feud with the Campbells. In the end, the Campbells with the aid of the English Army, while accepting McDonald hospitality; carried out what is now called The Glen Coe Massacre.
My late father in law who was a McLachlan, his clan had blood ties with the McDonalds; detested the Campbells. Not so much for the killing but for the abuse of the laws of hospitality.
Memories last a long time in the Highlands!!
Kev.

Kev, wonderful picture and presentation. History is quite often, not very pleasant. The American [Rodney King] once said: "Why can't we all just get along" By the way, Rodney King wasn't, what I'd call, a great American. Russ

Kev:

Once again, thanks for the history lesson. I love learning bits and pieces from all over the world! It is interesting how some feelings carry through. My mom still harbors ill feeling over WWII....she cannot figure out why we are friends with Japan and Germany. She is still angry. I guess I can understand.....the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.....I will never forgive those who slammed planes into the World Trade Center, Pentagon and a field here in Pennsylvania........even though my religion tells me I should.....

Russ:

You crack me up! BTW, I agree with you.
