It's just a bit of frivolous nonsense really, but I wanted to use Wendy's fairy brushes in something other than my fairytale creations. Hope you like it.

Robyn,
That is very nice!
I have been thinking and thinking about what I could use the fairy brushes for and I took some pictures this morning of some flowers my 4 year old son brought me. I was going to create something with those.

I feel like we are trained here to only say nice things and I was actually scared to offer my suggestion. It looks wonderful! Now is that a textured background??

Kimi.....
speaking for myself, I REALLY APPRECIATE suggestions. Never be afraid to offer me suggestions or criticisms.....it's the only way I will progress.
Yes the background is psd file I have of some bark on a tree in our local city park.
Thank you once again Kimi......your help is appreciated.

Robyn, I came back to see if it was visible this morning -- and it was! It's really a beauty. You just keep coming up with better and better images! Good work.

Thank you Wendy, Karen and Linda for your kind comments, but to be honest it was just a quickie that I didn't think was all that good. :o I'm feeling very frustrated at the moment with my lack of original ideas. I'm so inspired by the beautiful original work that Terry does......and think why can't I come up with something like that. I think it's my 'destiny' to be a follower rather than a leader. :)
Another thing that is frustrating me and I just have to get it off my chest. Do any of you get PMs from people asking how you do things. You go to a lot of trouble to send back a comprehensive and hopefully helpful answer. Does anyone ever reply and say thanks for that............NO!
Or dear......'they' will be ringing me up soon and asking me to appear on "Grumpy Old Women"! :D I'm sounding like an ideal candidate aren't I!!

I think you need to follow your own heart and do what is YOU! You have done some incredible work and I know, speaking for myself, when I try to copy someone else's work I end up frustrated because I can't do it. The more frustrated I get the more mental block I get. I can admire their work but just don't have the feel for that particular technique or emotion in the work. I try to force myself to learn at least one new technique a week and make something using it so I practice and drive it into my brain. I didn't want to try scrapbooking because it was for "bored old housewives" (see my other post in this thread for a good laugh). Well - I learned that it was NOT for them and that I really do enjoy doing it. Now I can use each skill learned to create new papers or embellishments which in turn create beautiful collages of work showcasing not only the photograph but the other skills in creating embellishments or blends or whatever. Each little piece of someone else you pick up becomes part of you and your work.
What I'm trying to say Robyn is there is no need for you to be a follower because you DO have the skills to be a leader. Look how many people try to copy your stained glass. Don't sell yourself short. You are VERY, VERY good!

Hey Robyn ...
Whenever you say about lacking creative ideas it always surprises me ... because you do such great things. Creativity is in all of your images !!
... and the idea of you on Grumpy Old Women oh my you are just far too nice for that :)

No Kimi.......DEFINITELY not you.
Thank you Nancy and Wendy. You are so kind and encouraging. Nancy I like your idea about forcing yourself to learn one new skill each week......as you say who knows where it may end. I need to get a more positive attitude, "pull my finger out", and get on with it. Watch out.........here I come! :D :)
EDIT........think I was having a "feel sorry for Robyn moment" last night........just needed a good kick you know where!

Robyn, your latest image is really pretty, I like it.
Your work is inspired, I have told you before that I envy your talent
and creativity and I mean it. I also know that at times a person can get worn down and feel that nothing is right, Don't let that happen...
You have many friends here and we all appreciate friendship.. besides we don't need any more grumpy old ladies .... Tom:)

Robyn- I echo Nancy's post- you have talent! I guess we all have trouble seeing the good things about ourselves. I had to laugh about the PMs asking for help and then getting no thanks. I can't say my inbox is flooded for questions about my work, but I have gotten a few questions. The first time was a thrill- someone actually wanted to know something from ME! Probably the truth was they were sending out to PMs to a bunch of people...:)
Oh, and this fairy image is very nice, I especially like the added sparkle and wand. It's nice when someone makes a suggestion that adds to your work. AND, you could do it in a snap. My husband sometimes looks at my work and says, "Couldn't you..." And I'm sure SOMEONE could...

Now Kay.......talk about putting oneself down!! :)
I wouldn't exactly say that my in-box is flooded with requests either.
But thank you very much for your vote of confidence. You are just part of a group of very nice supportive people on this forum.

Robyn. I am not qualified to give advice in this forum, but I pride myself in knowing quality when i see it, and you, a person from down under, have this quality." in spades". I know how you felt. I feel that way alot around here. Theres so much to learn,so little time to do it. so to quote you"GET ON WITH IT!":) boB

Yeah, Robyn... you're right. You have absolutely zero creativity. Here's proof. (the last scrapbook kit you submitted)

Seriously, you're one of the best Robyn... you just need self-confidence. If I had half your creativity, I'd open a studio.

I think it's my 'destiny' to be a follower rather than a leader. :)
Just remember Robyn to alot of newbies you look like a 'leader' and not a follower. I am sure that there are alot of people that see your images and get ALOT of inspiration from it.......I am one of them ;)
Take credit for the beautiful work you do and be proud of it, because I know that there are quite a few people who would be wondering - "how does she do that?" :)

Well the version that I saw was from the UK. We receive BBC 1 and BBC 2 over here on TV and I keep checking the tv guide to see if it's on, but I haven't been lucky yet. It's such a funny show and the things that come up are so 'everyday life' kind of stuff that we all encounter :D ;)
