I read about that in a Popular Science magazine article. Its amazing isn't it. I hope they use it to make murals and things that can really appreciate its true power.

Lets do some math... my 5 megapixel camera produces jpeg images that are more or less 1.1 mb. 1000 megapixels... thats half a gigabite for one picture. Its a very good thing jpeg and other compression came arround. Imagine if that used tiff files. They would need to attatch it to an ipod harddrive to store that size image.

I just went through those pictures and they certainly are amazing!!
