I would love to take the layers class but I have PSE 3. Is it worth it if I don't have PSE 4? I don't want to be lost because I'm a beginner as it is.

Welcome to the forum. PSE3 is fine. That is what I have. The classes teach you soooo much. I thought I could teach myself but it is so much easier to take the classes. Matt points out a lot of little things that I would have had no way of knowing. It is a very good course to have before you start trying the subscriber tutorials. It is just excellent basics. I still have a week to go but I have learnt a lot.
Go for it.

Shari is right,I have PSE3 & had no problem with the course. You will learn more from the online training videos than trying to learn from books.Everything starts to fall into place when you can follow along with the classes.

Thanks, Shari and Bob. One more question....are the tutorials that everyone has mentioned free on this site or do I need to subscribe to something else. If not where would I find them. I am soooo excited to get going. The pictures I've seen on this gallery are awe inspiring. I just came back from an Arts & Crafts festival and saw so many photography booths.
Shari, we just came back from Vancouver and Alaska. What a beautiful place to live! I have so many beautiful pictures that hardly need any photo editing because the subjects are so beautiful but I am anxious to see what I can do with some of them. I would love to do something creative to give our friends who traveled with us.
Thanks for your help.....I can't wait!

Hi Sandy ...
You need to be a subscriber to access the tutorials ... but it really is worth it. At the moment there are over 130 Video tutorials and around 70 written ones ... and new ones tend to added every week.
There is also a downloads section and extras :)
You also get the newsletter sent to you (which is more like a magazine than a newsletter) ... all in all its really good value. To subscribe you just click on Home at the top of this page then look over to the right and you will see the newsletter ... Click on that :)

Hello Sandy,
Welcome to the forum. We went to Canada and Alaska last year and I agree most of the hundreds and hundreds of photos I took needed nothing but a little cropping.
You will get an awful lot out of the layers class - there are three extra "days", so have a look for them along the way. If you feel things are getting a bit much, just ask questions here and some one will be able to help you.
