In this video, the Layer Style of Shape 1 Layer is duplicated to the Text layer by holding down the Alt key and clicking and dragging f icon to the Text layer.

The video was done using Photoshop Elements 4.0. Can this same Layer Style duplication be done in Photoshop Elements 3.0?

Hi ATR ...

Apply the layer style to one layer ... then go to then layers palette (make sure you are on the layer with the style applied)
Then Do Layer>Layer Style>Copy Layer Style
click on the layer you want to copy it too
... and do Then Do Layer>Layer Style>Paste Layer Style

It takes a bit longer but it does the same thing :)

Thanks Wendy.

Am I correct in assuming that your workaround means that the shortcut in the video works for 4.0, but not 3.0?

That was a good learning experience. I never noticed before that there was a Layer Style option under the Layer Menu.

Hi ATR ...

Yes that shortcut only works in PSE4 ...

Its one of the shortcuts I use a lot so I find it confusing when I switch to PSE3 :) :)
