I did a search on Printer recommendations but still seek more advice. I recently purchased an iMac and thus obsoleted my 5 year old printer. I prefer an all-in-one but willing to go differently (2 printers) if that is a better solution.

Strong wants in a printer:
good scanning capability including negatives
wifi (already have a network)

Other needed functions:
copying
modest print speed
good print quality (I prefer to get prints commercially)

The Epson RX700 seems to fit my needs. Does anybody have any opinions or feedback?

I have been using the RX 500 for some time now and am very happy with it. I got it when the RX 600 came out. I looks like the imprvements in the RX 700 include the inproved resolution of the sacnner and some other features. When I got the RX 500 it was rated better than the RX 600. I scanned my slides using it and I am very happy with the result although the increased resolution might be nice. The prints are great as is the CD Rom printing feature which I have on my R300 but not the RX 500. I personally prefer the Epson printers in this price range even though it would be nice to have the 1800 series. I think you will be pleased with the RX700

I have the new model RX640 which is replacing the RX620. Very satisfied. Has I think the same scan res as the RX700 also has CD/DV printing capabilities. Not sure about wifi i. if you go to the Epson web site you can check out the specifications of the RX640

If you are UK based Jessops is the only supplier I know that has them as most other locations seem to be still selling the RX620..

BUMP!

Amazon has the RX700 $115 after rebates. Should I pull the trigger? I don't have a scanner and my current printer is 3 years old (and only cost $30 at the time, lol).

James,

I purchased the RX700 shortly after posting this thread, although not at the great price that Amazon now has. I have not used it extensively yet, but I am very pleased. My prints match my on screen color and I have scanned a few color slides (30+ yr old) with excellent results. At $115 I don't think you could go wrong.

Ordered. Plus I signed up for an amazon credit card to save another $30. $400 printer for $85. :)

How do you look up the new printer on Amazon. I put in RX700 and nothing came up. What page is it on? Looking for a printer myself
