Hi,

I am using Adobe Photo Elements 3.0 and the text (using the text tool) is all corroded. The letters no matter what font I use are not crisp but jagged.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail. My fonts are crisp in all other programs.

What am I missing?

Thank you for any help!!

Hi Caissa

Welcome to the forums. :)

Have a look at the top in the option bar and make sure the anti aliasing button is on. Aside from that I have no idea.

It's the 2 little a's beside the size pulldown.

A few things to try:

(1) With the Type Layer active, right click on the Screen. In the pop up menu make sure that "Anti-alias On" is checked.

(2) Click on the "T" at top left. In the pop uo, click on "Reset Tool".

(3) Double click the Zoom Tool in the toolbox to get to the 100% view.

Looking forward to hearing outcome.

Hi Caissa ..

... and welcome to the forum :)

It could be that your file is a low resolution one ... that would mean that the swuare edges of the pixels show up as jagged edges.

Just check .. do Image>Resize>Image Size then copy down the sizes in docment size. If you post the figures in here then we will be able to check it for you :)

Hi Wendy,

Just read your post and needed clarification as we wait for Caissa's feedback.

Does not your response bring up another issue that is only related if she was viewing text from a file? She states that she is having the non crisp text problem using the Text Tool.

If not the anti-alias, I suspected that her font size is too small, and her zoom in may be "zoomed".

Hi ATR ...

Sometimes when you have a small low resolution image and the text you create in the image is quite large you can actually see the jagged edges where the pixels are ... because it is small it shows up on screen as larger than 100%

Here is what I mean ... :)
