I've been told that actions can be used with PSE3,but how? What must be done to accomplish this? I found this Photoshop Action at Adobe Exchange and want to try it. A little assistance,please....:)

Hi Chas ...
I would suggest that you use actions that are specially made for Elements ... they are some around. Panos has some and Grafi has too :)

yup - an article about using 'em here (http://www.graficalicus.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=164)
and some free (and not free) self-installing action sets here (http://www.graficalicus.com/graffishop/index.php) and here (http://www.graficalicus.com/downloadbasket/index.php)
remember that actions don't necessarily have to be about creating effects - they can also do a lot of handy things that add functionality - check out my Handy Actions Pack and Grant's tools, too -
if you're going to experiment with installing actions from the web, be sure to grab the free cache cleaner (http://www.graficalicus.com/downloadbasket/categories.php?cat_id=8) - that's the step that gives most folks trouble, and this will take care of it for you -

Grafi,
Thanks for the head's up....:) I already have Grant's Tools installed. The action i was interested in was for creating an IR black and white effect.

Hi Chas,
I add actions this way:
- Download any Photo Shop action.
- Unzip it in My Documents(remember where!)
- Take the action and move it to C, programs - Adobe PSE - Previews -Effects.
- Go back in Preview and delete the Cache.
- Close (it will make a new cache by itself)
If you open your PSE; go to the effects and most of them show up.
Not all of them work, but a lot.
I hope you can do something with it,
Liz
