I am trying to separate and move one or two puzzle pieces. I have a PC and I'm using PE4. Panos' instructions for puzzle effects are written for PS6. Is there a way I can do this? The tutorial calls for me to Jump > Image Ready, then click on the 2 Up Tab, use Window > Optimize, then select GIF or PNG format. I don't have those. I just want to be able to Free Rotate a few pieces and save the whole thing. Is it possible?

Carol,
did you download Panos's Puzzle from the Elements page on his site?:)

Hi Carol ...

Once you have run the action and you have all the puzzle pieces onscreen just go to the layers palette.

Click on the thumbnail of the piece you want to move (in the layers palette) then unlink the layer. PSE3 click on the box next to the eyeball and the thing that looks like a paper clip will vanish. PSE4 ... again click on the layer but then go the top of the layers palette and click on the link layers icon.

Now select the move tool, click on the puzzle in your workspace and you will be able to move that piece of the puzzle ... just repeat the process for the other ones you want to move.

Hope this helps :)

No, I downloaded it from PanosFX. I know he could help me but I figured someone here must have used his effect and moved one of the puzzle pieces.

Hi Carol ...

I think that Kev was asking it you had used the Elements action by Panos to create the puzzle ...

If you did then my message in this thread will show you how to move the pieces :)

Wendy's described all the steps needed to rotate move the pieces.
Now, since there is no Imageready in PSE, you will use the Save for Web command (press Control+Alt+Shift+S) to save in either gif or in png format.
(For certain reasons I prefer using this command from Imageready, although it is also present in Photoshop and PSE).

I'll be sure to show it off. It will be yet another picture of my grandson. We silly grandmothers can't quit showing off these gorgeous children.
