Have you looked at the video tutorial/demonstration for that tool?
Click on the "Learning Center" link at the top of the forum page -- then you will be able to select the "Magic Selection Brush" video demonstration.

It's been my experience that all the tools don't always work as the tuts tell us they do [luckily, most of the time they do]. Russ

As Russ indicates, not all images are good candidates for some of the "magic" tools... you could post yours if you want a more detailed observation.
Can you get at least a partial selection, which you can then complete using the lasso or selection brush?

That's the issue ,everything else works but not the magic selection, and the problem that it doesnt work on every picture that i try ,so i must do something wrong !!! maybe i need to push a key or something ?

Yes the 'magic' selection brush is a bit of a 'swine', especially as one of the main reasons to upgrade to 4, well it was for me.
BUT there are many helpful hints and tips to be found on this website and probably the Adobe one as well for little shortcuts to ease the use of this 'super tool'

Hi Rayman ..
... and welcome to the forum :)
Se if you can find an image of a sky with a bird in it ... then try it out on that. Thats a good way to test if it is working or not ...

Hi! I finally figured out how to use the magic selection brush from the tutorial! I went to use it, and now it all looks different. After I make all of my selections, there is no "OK" button anymore, so now I just have all of this stuff selected, but no "OK" button to make it all work. Can anyone help?
Thanks!
April

April,
Is your computer display set at least for 1024x768?
Anything less than that causes unpredictable results, including some buttons being off-screen, and unavailable.

April: I suspect that you were using the Magic Extractor before and now you're using the Magic Selection Brush. The Brush doesn't have an OK - it just makes the selection which you can fine tune (with the selection brush for example) and then copy and paste the selection to a new layer or a new image or whatever you want to do with it.
