I keep looking at everyone else's work and I am very jealous. You guys are amazing what you can think up. I have never had any imagination (guess those brain cells are missing). I am in a slump right now and haven't tried any new tutorials. Any suggestions on how to help me? :(

Hi, and don't be discouraged. I'm not very creative, either, but I'm having a great time with Elements. I don't think anyone here minds if you go to the gallery to get inspiration, and then use something you find there as a model for your own creation. I've certainly done this. That way, you can "adopt" someone else's creativity, but use your own skill and talents to adapt it to your photograph(s).
I'm looking forward to seeing you set up your own gallery and post some creations soon. :)

Really, don't get discouraged. I've had this program since last fall. Reading and reading (including the forums). In front of the computer it seems I just would sit there and look at it. Just take little steps. A few tutorials even. As you start doing little things, ideas will start coming to you. I am just barely hanging on sometimes but now that I'm not shy about asking on the forums it is starting to come together. All skill levels are so nice about helping. Don't be afraid to ask.

Litespeed, Linda is so right! If you can't come up with a unique idea, just try someone else's idea & adapt it to your photo. OR use some of the ideas in the wonderful tutorials. Good luck!

Hi Litespeed ...
You have been doing so well up to now ... all those new techniques you have learned.
I know that you have done a lot of my tutorials ... so why not start your gallery off with some of those. You have done some good ones ... :)
Please don't worry about the creative side of using Elements that really does come once you have worked out how everything works .. So don't be discouraged !!

Litespeed, I'm in the same position as you. I just keep plugging along and every now and then I learn something new. There have been times when I wanted to do certain things but had no idea how they were done. The wonderful people on this forum came through with the help I needed. Like we used to say in the 60s: Keep on truckin. Russ

Litespeed,
boy do I understand and can relate. I have done a ton of tutorials but still can't get creative to just sit and look at a picture and come up with something. I keep praying it will come but at least we have great examples in the gallery to go off of. Just wanted you to know you are not alone!
