I'm just starting the layers course and I'm stuck. When I open my second photo on top of my first photo and move the top layer around ,the bottom photo only contains grey and white little squares no image. Any clue as to what I'm doing wrong??

Hi ...

... and welcome to the forum :)

I suspect that you haven't in fact moved the image over into the other photo. The grey and white squares are just a transparent layer below the other layer ... just go to the layers palette and see if there are one or two layers in the image.

If there is only one (and I suspect that there is) then just try dragging the other image into it again :)

Do let us know how you go on ...

Okay I still have Grey and white under. I'm following the video eaxactly unless I'm missing something. My screen looks exactly like the training video, still no luck.

Hi ...

You will have a checkerboard effect under the images but you should have another images in there as well (if you sucessfully dragged the other image into it)

Just go to the layers palette and check how many layers you have in the image ... lett me know and we will see what we can do from there :)

Hi ...

Oh I am so pleased that you have managed to do it OK ... don't struggle with things on your own just ask as many questions as you need to and one of us will always talk you through things :)

Look forward to seeing some of the images you create :)
