I can create slide shows with music without a problem. When played in the "preview" they work just great. When I try to play the .pdf file the music stops about 3/4 of the way through, but the photos continue to the end. I tried the .pdf file on another computer with the same result.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Wayne

Hi there and welcome to the forum. I can't explain what is happening but a couple of things to look at.
I assume you're using Adobe Reader 7 to play the slide show. Because it doesn't support all the features that Elements 4 can put into a slide show (so could get the timing messed up) I've found that recreating the slide show in Acrobat Reader sometimes works better. Escape and then open picture tasks and you can create a slide show and add audio. That's also good for PSE3 which didn't have the add audio to PDF feature that PSE4 does.
The other thought is that Adobe Reader doesn't have it's own audio player so you might want to look in Edit>Preferences>Multimedia and see what it is using and maybe try one of the others.
Hope you get it to work

I am using Acrobat Reader 7. I guess there is some incapatability between the two Adobe programs.
I changed the default Audio Player, but that didn't help any.
The Open Picture Tasks in Reader will let you make a slide show with audio, but you can't change the screen resolution or have the pictures spaced to fill the audio time like you can with PSE4.
Thanks for your quick suggestions.

Thanks for the lead to Edit/Preferences/Multimedia in Adobe Reader 7.
I had created an Elements 3.0 PDF slideshow (which I normally do not) and could not get the slides to advance in the final version without having to click on each slide, had no control over the transitions, and no continuous play.
After your tip nudged me over to the Adobe Reader preferences, the "light bulb" lit. Not only did I discover Multimedia, but also discovered Full Screen where most, if not all, of the settings that I needed were to be found.

ATR: That's another good tip. The strange thing is that the transition preference doesn't seem to be sticky. Close the reader and it forgets you told it to Advance every so many seconds. Haven't figured that one out. You did get me looking at all the other Preferences and they look pretty intimidating. I wonder what Use Greek Text below 6 pixels would do  . (I just found out and now I know what Greek Text is - it's placeholder text for text that is too small to show properly on the screen don't try it unless you know what you're doing - it can make things look very strange.).
