I wanted to surprise someone and use PSE4 to work with some of her photo's. Trouble is, I am new and not that creative.. yet.

Anyone have some really good ideas?

Thanks!

Janet

What kind of stuff do you want to do with them?

There are a lot of good ideas in the galleries. I have a couple in mine and Carol has some in hers too. I think Kay has a list compiled of all the galleries that have them and she will likely be along soon to post the list. I would start by browsing those to get ideas.

I'm back from vacation and just saw this thread. Yep, I have several in my list, but I'm sure there are more good ones.

Wedding brushes available at Adobe Studio Exchange:

I would also just browse through the galleries and see creations that you like- I'm sure many could be adapted to wedding photos. If you're not a subscriber, you might consider it, because there are over 150 tutorials in the subscriber area, and you could easily find step-by-step instructions to do cool things with the pictures.

Let us know how it goes and ask if you need help!

Also,

For a classical look, check out the videos in the Subscriber Section...

There is one entitled "Wedding Template" dated July 8, 2005, and it is by Matt Kloskowski.

I am also very new to all of this but I did take the on-line layers class and the very last lesson of the course has a great treatment for engagement/wedding photos.

I got alot out of the class as a new user and would highly recommend it to other new users.:)

Those are the ones.:D Also - here is the link to some sample pages I did for my daughter's book. Haven't decided which ones for sure are going into the printed version but you can have a peek.

Nancy,

Your album is stunning. Did you take the photos as well or just do the Photoshopping? I am hoping to select some photos from my childrens' weddings and do something similar....hopefully before my grandchildren start getting married:)

I love them all! You mean you won't include some of them? How will you choose?? And you said she didn't have good photos- you've certainly made the most of them. What a wonderful keepsake!

Most of those are ones my brother took using my Sony camera. He was at the photographers elbow the whole time - at least until the photographer told him to get lost. Good thing he was or I wouldn't have many to work with. I have some more to do but it's been over a year and I'm sort of losing interest and so is she. I printed those in one of those Epson books that you print and then fasten in the bound book cover and they look really nice but wanted a professional book printed too.

Oh Nancy, what an album!! Congratulations on excellent work.

Interesting web site. What is the cost of using such a site..........I'm not at all familiar with how to use these sites. I see it says free uploads.........but is there a catch?

Thank you Linda and Robyn.

No - not really any catch. You can become a regular member at no charge or you can become a platinum member. I got membership with my Sony camera. You upload your images free and order items like mugs, prints, books, etc. I used them for my Big Cat poster and for my Autumn Splendor poster because their quality is first-rate and the price is reasonable. You can upload your images and send a link for others to view them too and limit who can print from your album. I put the book there for a couple of people to look at and order if they wanted, but mostly as a starting point for the book I'm working on for her. When I'm done and satisfied with the pictures, I'll order a printed book through them. I'm waiting mainly for the next "sale". My posters only cost me 11.99 each on sale for a 20x30 print and they were excellent.

Nancy - I just saw your album. It is so beautiful. You have a wonderful talent for sharing with meaning. Don't procastinate and lose interest. Get it finished or the grandchildren will start coming and you really will forget to finish it!! I think it is beautiful the way it is - so get it printed.

Nancy! Your'e album turned out great! Thanks for mentioning my wedding stuff to Janet as well-Janet, if you need any help. just ask. I do have one piece of advice for anyone shooting weddings with the idea of doing something in Elements. Take a bunch of photos of incidental stuff as well as people shots. For example, the bride's bouquet, lit candles, bows, table centerpieces, the cake, balloons, the outside of the venue, someone's shoes under a table that have been kicked off-whatever. These can be used as bits and pieces in layouts. For my friend's album I took 4 or 5 close up shots of the shiny pew bows in the church while waiting for the ceremony to start-one of those became the background for a layout. :)

Nancy, this album is beautiful! WOW! I am doing a small wedding for a friend in August. Would love to know what other program you might have used for these wedding pics beside PHE4. I am interested in making one of those coffee table books as they call them but do not have a clue as where to begin. Most folks I talk to say they are rather pricey? I would appreciate any tips of the trade. Thanks Little Nana

Thanks Shari, Carol and Nana.

Shari - I will get it finished - I have about 15 I don't have posted there yet and then about 4 more to work up and then I'll do it as soon as they have a sale on their books.

Carol - my pleasure! That wedding shot with the verse is still one of my all time favorites from members galleries. That is just a fabulous image! Those are good pointers too!

Nana
I only used Elements. The best thing is to take the layers class if you have not yet done so. The bonus lesson on day 21 shows how to make a wedding template. Once you understand the concept you can create 4 or 5 different templates and then just switch the pictures or change the color to create a whole new look for each page. It's really pretty simple once you understand the layers concept.

LittleNana-are you a Mac user? Apple has wonderful books that you can order with all sorts of layouts. Not unreasonable at all.:)
