Like the title says, second opinion please. I am not sure whether I like this or not, what do you think?

Hi Karen
I like it very much - it looks almost primeval and is definitely unique - makes you want to go "in" there and look around. :)

Karen, I not usually one who give opinions, as I'm always asking for advise, but I find the frame a little over powering (takes away from picture), I also noted that on the left side the grass plant (?) flows nature, but on the right it is wavy. Don't know which effect you were going with. Other then that I like the picture & effect

Karen it's a great shot, but you've asked for an opinion, so................
I'd like to see the top edge of the frame the same as the bottom. In other words no sky peeping through the seven gaps on the top. I find that a bit distracting. Am I making sense?

Karen,
Lovely shot, but I'm agreement with the others...I wasn't sure which was supposed to be the main focus, the frame or the picture...every time I looked at the photo in the middle, I found my eyes being drawn out towards the frame. And I also thought the gaps at the top a bit distracting.

Karen,
the concept is great but I must agree with the others. A little more work and it could be great.

I agree with Robyn's suggestion. The wavy top edge is distracting, but cropping it would look better in my opinion.

Karen,
What a cool idea & application of Kev's tutorial! Those sticks popping up look like prehistoric animal heads to me.
I agree about the top edge of the frame--smoothing out would improve, IMHO.(VERY humble opinion!)

Thanks everyone for the constructive criticism, it is much appreciated. I have fiddled a bit more with the image and it now looks like this

Is this an improvement?

Karen,
I think that's much better. The texture really helps.
Nice one.

Karen,
That's great, much easier on the eye. Nice interpretation of Kev's tut. I like the texture you have used on the frame. Is it sandstone or something similar?

Karen,
It's Bayla not Pat:) ....it gets a bit confusing cos Pat's user name is Bayhli. Just remember...Pat is the one without the avatar!

Karen,
Don't worry, you're not the first to make that mistake!!!:) We're next to each other in the members list as well. Reminds me of a friend who ran a business from home....customers used to call her the whole time...only problem was that she was listed one above us in the phonebook, people would launch into lengthy explanations & requests and I'd have to wait for them to stop for a breath so I could say 'your finger's slipped, you've got the wrong number:) '

I like both Karen –
Don’t consider myself to be qualified to make technical judgments … but like Mary said in the first response – it’s kind of magical, and makes me want to step through that ‘hole in the fence’ to see what’s going on behind there ….
Also like your new additions to your gallery – in fact I like most all your pictures of Australia … a place I’ve wanted to visit for many years, and with any luck, I just might make it in the next year or two ….
I figure that beside my camera, I’ll need a large handful of 2 – 4 gig memory cards :D

Mark,
Thanks for the kind words. The other thing you need when you come to Australia is plenty of time :D You could spend a month just in my corner of Australia - another month in Robyn's corner of the country and another month in . . . . get the idea? Because of the exchange rate, money should not be a problem.

I like the changes you've made. We want to go to Australia, too...someday.

Janine,
Whenever you come and for how ever long you stay, please make sure you get out of the capital cities because in my opinion most cities are more or less the same :D In the countryside you see the differences.
