The Layers training is based on PSE 4, and I have PSE 3. I am unable to keep two open files on the screen at the same time so as to drag one on to another with the move tool. I have tried to work around the problem by coping one file and pasting it on the other.
Could someone guide me to display two open files exactly as the trainer does it.

Hi ...
and welcome to the forum :)
Try doing Window>Images>Cascade ... then you should be able to move the images into place.
Do let us know if you get it to work OK :)

First of all welcome to the forum ... glat to have you aboard.
First of all make sure you are in standard edit mode (in the upper right there are buttons for 'quick fix' and 'standard edit'.
Then, right above the standard edit button there are more icons, the one on the left is for automatically tiling your windows. The other(s) are for sizing your windows. If you see four icons, the second from the right is for 'multi-window mode'. Click there and that should give you the opportunity to move your windows as you please.

Or there's always Wendy's way which is a lot easier and faster ... Thanks Wendy!:)

Hi Bill ...
I didn't know about those little icons
Its actually easier on a Mac to move them into place as the Mac has a floating desktop so there is no grey workspace for the images to hide behind :) ... thats probably why I have never looked at the icons :)

Thanks for asking that question stepasan. I started the Layers class last night and was going nuts trying to move the layers. This morning I read your post and all is well. At least for Lesson 1.

You tend to find that one person asks a question and it solves the same problem for lots of others :) :)
