Hello,
This montage was made using photos of roses in our garden and in those of friends.
I made the template, used paste into selection and Control G to restrict the image to its part of the template.

Kev,
they are beautiful roses and, once again, you have presented them is a magnificent way.

Grant,
quite true.
Notice no white roses, only red or pink or with a touch of white.

Karen,
thank you but the roses are the stars, I only presented them to show them in their true glory.
Kev.:) :)

That sounds a bit pompous but I think you know what I mean.:o

Beautiful Kev! I love roses. I also appreciate that you posted pixentral. I am just refusing to visit imageshack and have missed many of your posts because of it. It's the only site I've visited that somehow gets around my pop up protection.

The flowers are really beautiful the layout is very well done. I am astounded each day with the talented works presented here.
You say you prepared a template, how might one do that, and keep it I assume for various future collections?

Hi,
glad you like it.
Making the template is fairly easy. Open a new page in a size you want.
Using the rectangular marquee tool drag out a shape, fill it with black and control J to put it on its own layer. Repeat this until your happy with the template.
The way I use it is to open a photo, make any corrections needed, then Control A, Control C to copy it.You can then close that photo as it is copied. Make sure your template is on the work area, decide which frame of the the template you want that image in and in the layers palette control click on the thumbnail, this selects the frame. Your frame is selected so open a new layer which should be above the selected layer. Then hold down the Control and Shift keys and press V, this pastes the image into the new layer, then with this layer selected do Control G to clip it to the shape below it, Control T allows you to adjust the image size, which because it is clipped to the shape layer confines the image to that shape. When you're happy merge down.
Repeat with all the shapes and then add strokes or whatever to finish the montage.

Forgot to say when you've made your template save as a PSD file and it is there for use when you want it.

Nice one.
The reason i've just bought Elements 4 is because i've also just bought a Kodak p850 digital camera and wanted to get the most out of the photos i take with it.
:)
Your roses make me want to go out into the garden and see what i can make of the flowers that my wife has grown.
