This is what I have been using Elements on. I have made over 50 quilts. I did not touch up photo's this time...next set of photo's will be a couple of my scrapbook pages. Please let me know what you think of the quilts. My next two quilts will be from the tutorials and videos in my sons graduation quilt. Just starting on that one.

Hi and welcome!

I am a quilter also and just got a new Bernina so I am getting back into it after a long absence. What product are you printing your pictures on? There are an amazing number on the market now compared to what I have done in the past. I have ironed moire taffeta or broadcloth to freezer paper but haven't tried any of the new printer ready products.

By the way the quilt shop that I went to yesterday said that their most popular class right now is printing photos onto either silk or other fabrics to incorporate into quilts.:)

What I know about quilts you could write on the head of a pin. My wife on the other hand is a fabric artist, spinning and weaving. Your images got a WOW not once but twice and followed by"What a great Idea!"

Thankyou to all the great compiments. Only family and close friends get to see my work. Kindda shy about showing off. I make my own fabric sheets out of Bubble jet 2000. It takes me the weekend to make 5 yards into printable letter size fabric sheets. The already pre-pared ones work great. Just make sure it has a high thread count 200 and up. The higher the count the sharper the print. Don't forget printers don't print white, so I use white 100% cotton. To get an old look use off white. The finished size tells you how long it will take....unless you get carried away. I teach classes when I have time. Elements 4.0 has got my head spinning with ideas. Soon you will see my....creative side....thanks so much for compliments. shell

Thanks for all your information Shell :)

Electric quilt has some new photo material that is a very high thread count - 283 threads per inch. http://www.electricquilt.com/default.htm
I am looking forward to trying it. I saw them demonstrate it on a segment on the Quilters News Network. http://www.quiltersnewsnetwork.com/

I have made a baby gift for people that they really like - the grandparents-in-law bib. I get a picture of both parents as a baby and print each one on a seperate piece of cotton with the words above the pictures saying "I look just like my mommy" or "I look just like my daddy" on the other. Then I put the two pieces back to back to make the bib and put a soft laminating sheet piece on each side before I bind the bib as you would a quilt. I include a note telling them they can display either side depending which grandparents show up. It's a fun and quick project.:)

I love your quilts! I am not a quilter but several members of my family are, and I am awed by their creations. I'm sure that your quilts are well received and cherished.
