Well sorry to say I did not find the class useful... it is probably just me, I really need to be spoon-fed BADLY.

I have the Adobe Classroom in a box for this program, hopefully that will help. Anyone use it?

Hi,

I have not seen the book you have, but here are some general comments.

I had Elements 3.0 for about a year when I decided to buy Premiere Elements 2.0. Premiere Elements came with an Adobe user manual that I find to be very good. Have you given this a look? And, there are the tutorials (6, I think) included in the program.

Next, there is a new book out "Premiere Elements 2 for Windows: Visual Quick Start Guide" by Antony Bolante (see http:www.peachpit.com). I just took a quick look (did not get around to buying), thought it good, but did not see any slide show info. I just may have overlooked it?? The promo says that it audience target includes the "newbies".

Also, have you been over to the http://www.adobe.com? Would you believe that I found the greatest tutorials in the Adobe Kids section? They have other tutorials over there too. Of course, there are the books and resources at http://www.chuckengels.com.

Based on previous experience, I found it to be true to reserve decisions on whether something has been helpful or not. More often than not, down the road, there is always a time when you get to a "How to point" and you say "Oh that was in that class!" Maybe, not; sometimes first impression are accurate.

As you may have guessed by now, I have not gone the online course route. I have found success by reading, learning, exploring for everything Adobe Elements and/or Premiere Elements 2.0.

Good luck. It will all fall into place.

I am on lesson three of the Classroom in a box and it is very good. It comes with a DVD of the lesson files so it is very hands on working with an actual file along with the book.

Do you really mean "box"? I have the Adobe Classroom in a "book" for Premiere Elements 2, and really appreciated the practical exercises it provides. They are a great foundation, even though I expect the set will now languish on the shelf...

Yeah I meant in a book. Sorry 'bout that.

I am on lesson 7 in the book and have learned a lot. In hindsight, taking this online class did acclimate me to the layout and terminology, making my use of the book more productive as this is all totally and completely new to me.
