It's been a fun week working with some egg challenges. I have added a couple entries to my gallery. The zippered egg and my daughter's boyfriend, the egghead. (he really is a great guy and a good sport..........he loved the way it turned out.)

Pauline, I love the zippered egg! You did an excellent job of that. The egg head -- that's scary! You've got a great sense of humor showing through both of them.

Pauline - I love the zippered Chick! What fun. And your daughter's boyfriend certainly IS a great sport, and a nice looking fellow too - except for his noggin!!

Pauline what great work you've done. That zippered chick is awesome, great work on the zipper. Your daughters boyfriend is such a good sport, we've seen hin deformed so many times over I'm not sure what he really looks like.

Thanks all. Actually Terry, Johnny is a really good looking kid with beautiful blue eyes!! I rolled his eye up in his head for this one, and my son had a great time moving the eyes around as they were on their own layer. He was also the base of my halloween mask! He's asked me to make him black with dred locks! So who knows.........you still might not ever know what he looks like!! :D

The zippered chick was a lot of fun to do. What I originally thought of doing was having the zipper half open with him peeking out but couldn't quite figure it out, and he got so impatient he just broke through on his own! I see a few mistakes now and I should have shaded the bottom of the top of the egg and also I need a better shadow under it to place it on the table.....but still it was fun to do.

I really do enjoy the surreal stuff. It's just plain fun!!

Well I decided you should see what he really looks like. Poor guy! This is the picture I started with.

Great work on both images, although I find the "egg head" picture kind of creepy. I'm glad your model is such a good sport about the whole thing.

:D Gary, I'm not worried about him sticking around. I'm more worried that my daughter will move on and he will be heart broken!! He really does love being my model and has already come up with other ideas for me to do.........Like have his car breaking out of his chest!!!

Ward.........I know what you are saying. I felt the same way the first time I saw that image on someone's gallery. It's kind of creepy, but still kind of neat. I think it's the whole idea of 'eating' it!

Janine while I'd love to take credit for the zippered egg, I got the idea from a tutorial in a magazine. It has a zipper on the side of the orange. I decided I would try it with the egg and then add the chick........so basically built the idea from one I'd seen. I wish I were more creative and could think of them myself......maybe one day.

Thanks so much everyone. They really were fun to do and I thik the chick is my favourite so far. It printed up quite nicely.

Yeah its sort of like the movie "Hannibal" where Anthony Hopkins lifts off Ray Liotta's skull and feeds him his brains for dinner.

Oh ya Nancy........that was one gross movie!! I think more than anything it's our imagination that gets to us. Obviously the picture isn't real, but it's creepy none the less.

In one of my magazines (Advanced photoshop) there is an excellent piece of work. It's a kitten with a zipper down the front of it's head to it neck. The zipper is open and there is a kitten inside. It's like a cat in a cat suit. Anyway....it's still freaky to look at.

Ah gee thanks Robyn and Mary.
I'm just an addict. :D I wish I could get into Corel draw as much as I do photoshop!! Even painter sits and doesn't get any play time. :(
