Creating a brush <problem>

Hello all!!

I'm quite seasoned in making my own brushes, but for some reason I've had a couple today that I've tried to do the "Define Brush from Selection", but it's greyed out. The item is on a transparent background and no matter if I select the item or leave it unselected I never get the option to make the brush.

Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Hi ...

I have had this happen occasionally and haven't worked out why it does ... try saving the file then loading it again. Now just make your selection and see if it works this time ... :)

This stinks.
I've tried everything. I have saved it in several different formats.
Have shut down and restarted PSE, but to no avail I can not get the brush option to work on this file.
How strange.

OK! I figured it out!!!
The file I was trying to make into a brush was too big. Once I decreased the size the option became available. I figured it out because I just made a very small selection and noticed that option was available, but when I would try to select the whole thing it would grey the option out. So I reduced the file and WHA-LA - I made my brush!

I have never had that problem before. My problem was always the opposite fear.... the file would be too small and make for a horrible brush.
No matter! I'm just glad I figured it out. :)
