Hmm... let's see.. a garden last only the season, and the joy of a new laptop will last.. a few days more ;)
I am actually working extensively on my Macbook, both in Windows and Mac OS. Windows. The only disadvantage is maybe having to reboot, but this ensures that if something sneaks in the Windows partition, it won't affect the Mac OS because Win can't see Mac (Mac can see and read Win, though).
Macbook is running kinda hot.. so if she plans on using it on her lap, it may not be the right computer.

Adobe QA Engineer was a spam-bot that kept posting to threads and IM a very rude image of a .... never mind ... it was not pretty by anyone's standards.

That is what i would like to know...well, not really, just curious is all. I hate it when i have no clue what you are all talkin' 'bout
PS, Grant, must be nice to have a spouse like you. I never get anything unless i buy it for myself....and that rarely happens. A computer and a shed seems like such a small request from such a splendid woman as Sam.

I think they all run Hot. We have a very very old IBM Think pad and a newer but still old HP Pavilon and they both run hot.
The Core Duo are designed to run cooler so can you image how hot they would be if this wasn't the case!

Doreen lived through many years of eating black bread and putting up with me. I am sure there were years where it was not all that nice.

I remember my parents, especially my mother not eating so that we could have something in our stomach. But still, she was happy. Sometimes, it's not what material we have that matters the most.

Grant, my dear husband broke the rear window on his truck yesterday....I wont even tell you how...pure stupidity. I told him the money to repair it was not coming out of our account. Told him he better start mowing some lawns. Grrrrr, I go without ALOT just to be able to save for a house and he goes and does something foolish...where oh where were his brains that morning...oh ya, i know where they were... I had to drive my nephew to summer school that morning and so his brains were not there to stop his foolish antics.

Oh that reminds me of one of my favorite movies; ' Fargo '
Btw, the rear window incident had to do with an industrial wood chipper..if you saw ' Fargo '...they you'll get an idea of why my thoughts went this way

Speaking, of, has anyone else noticed the name, Yahoo! Slurp Spider in the list of currently active users? That seems a bit suspicious. It occurs several times in the list of Guests.

Grant,
Woohoo Pina Colada time:)
Mike,
While we may not like the sound of the name, unless it is offensive, or they start posting spam we leave them alone, however one false move.... :D

Ray---I'm like Grant, I let the wife buy all the cars. I do have a pickup that I drive but it is paid for and is quite old. She is kind enough to let me drive the car when we go out or on a trip.

Hmmm the van the in the driveway replaced the old van that some jerk totaled running into my husband. He said, 'you buy this one, the next one will be in my name..." Yes, he's looking for that sports car. I think next year will be the year. I won't be able to stall him any longer!!
Looks like I missed all the spam action around here! Just as well. Some people are just loosers with no life.

Hi Tami-
Actually, it wasn't so much the offensiveness of the name that bothered me. Heck, I'm not even sure I know what that means. It was the fact that the same name appears simultaneously, mixed in among all the Guests instead of registered users, and shows them as viewing different forms. Just guessing from the name, but it seems to be some sort of auto robot scanning the various forums for something? Emails, user names, passwords, etc? Maybe? I'm getting a little off my technical turf here.
Below is the thumbnail of a screenshot I took just a few minutes ago, with some examples highlighted...
