After not using 4.0 for a month I attempted to start the program but it would not open from the desktop icon. nor would it start from opening all programs. I uninstalled 4.0 and the tried to reinstall it. As I thought it had been corrupted The program would proceed for a while and then it would prompt me to please insert disk:1 this would be in a window that had a heading of Adobe photoshop4.0 Setup. The problem is that the disk already in the computer and it would not continue with the install. Premier 2.0 is still installed. I am at a loss as to how to reinstall the program.
Thaks for the help

Hi Don ...
The insert disk one problem has come up before .... it happens when you try to do a repair instead of removing Elements and then doing a clean install.
The solution was to completely uninstall Elements and thed do an install.
Do let us know if this helps with your problem :)

Thank You Wendy for the information. I have not yet attempted to reinstall the program as I want to let you know the steps I have taken and perhaps I have done something incorrectly. I have used a third party uninstaller program "your uninstaller" to remove PSE. I do know if this truly did the job. So after I read your post I inserted the PSE disk and went thru the remove program process in the install program section of the install.
You were right I did attempt a repair as the program was not responding as I described in my first post. Now what do I do when the install prompts me and check repair on the new install. It is crazy but this program is so cool that I do not want to screw it up. I feel like I am cresting the hill but just can not get over the top.
Thanks
Don

Hi Don ...
Oh now I'm stuck ... I'm a Mac user so its totally different for me.
Hopefully one of the windows users will be able to help with the next step :)
