When I use "Select/Modify/Expand" I am getting a rounded corner instead of straight corners. Can someone tell me how to get straight corners? Dave Cross did a tutorial on this but I can't locate it.
THANKS!

Hi ...
Thats simply the way that expand works ...
What is it that you are doing? its just that it may be possible to find another way of doing it :)

Wendy,
Basically experimenting and trying some things that I learned a while back.
I want to put a white border around a layered image. I want to do this with layers so that I can do other things with the white border such as turn it into a shadow that completely surrounds the picture.
Make sense?

Hi ...
So let me make sure that I have understood this OK you have a square (lets call it that for the moment) on its own layer and you want to add a white border around it.
Is that right? ... and do you want the border actually 1. on the square or 2. on its own layer.
1. Try this ..
Go to the layers palette and Control Click (Mac Command click) on the square layer thumbnail ... that gives you the selection.
Then do Edit>Stroke ... set the stroke to inside that will give you crisp corners.
2. Try this ... its pretty similar to the one above :)
Go to the layers palette and Control Click (Mac Command click) on the square layer thumbnail ... that gives you the selection.
Create a new layer above the square layer
Then do Edit>Stroke ... set the stroke to inside.
Let me know if that helps :)

Wendy, thanks. Edit/Stroke/Inside did the trick. I've done so many tutorials that I'm getting lost. I thought that I would start experimenting so that I know what and why I am doing things.
I appreciate your help.

Hi Terri ...
Experimenting really is the best thing to do ... and when you get stuck then just ask.
You will find that you learn a lot doing that :)

Wendy, I had seen someone do this around a year ago and wanted to reproduce it. I finally got it to work correctly. Here is the final result.
