I find my organizer screen anything but that. I have tried to keep everything tagged, but I know I have missed some. Any way to find those without a tag?
I am just finishing a book that has about 400 photos in it. I have saved and named them in a file so they are in the same order as in the book, however when I bring them into PE4 to print out a thumbnail or prepare a slide show, they are in no semblance of order. What is the secret?

I want to scan in old photos and slides to make a slide show I can share, I literally have thousands of photos. How do I keep them in order so I do not spend hours more trying to organize them in collections.

I am an Windows Elements 3.0 user and really do not depend on the Organizer that much. But,....

I seem to recall a recent post that suggested that the key to keeping the numbering sequence in this situation is to put the photos into Collections. There you can organize them where you like, and they stay that way in sequencial number 1, 2, 3, etc. if you export them.

Try it on a small scale and let me know if it works that way for you.

If they are all in the same folder you should be able to use folder view to view them in file name order.

Collections are definitely the way to go when you need a particular order. I always start a slide show creation from a collection.

There is a menu option to Find Untagged files. Sorry I don't have the program in front of me to tell you which menu.

Can you find them by using that date bar?? Shouldn't they all be under the date you scanned them in? Are they just in alphabetical order and that isn't what you want...you want them in the sequence you scanned them in???? I am a bit dense....

Hi-To find all untagged items, go under FIND > untagged items

You can also find any items not in a collection with FIND > items not in a collection.

Thanks for the responses. I guess I was a bit dense on the find untagged.
As not al the items were entered in order of use (not always possible when you are working on a book) I created another file in which I have all photos in order as they are in the book. However when I say get photos from that file, they do not stay in the order I have them listed. C1_1, C2_1 C2_1, 2, 3, etc.

In the bottom left hand corner of the screen are your Organizer sorting options. Sorting by file name is not an option, unfortunatley. You might find a workaround by sorting by Folder Location?? However, you can create a collection (say, "Book"), drag the images onto the collection (they only appear in the collection, they do not move). Then in the collection you can manually sort the images in whatever order you want and they stay that way.
