Is it possible to make & save your own shapes in elements? or can someone point me to a good web site for some free custom shapes

Lots of free ones available in the Adobe Studio Exchange Here (http://share.studio.adobe.com/axBrowseSubmit.asp?t=14). Or Google photoshop custom shapes and you'll come up with thousands :) . Just stick the .CSH files in the presets/custom shapes folder.

You can pick up Custom shapes and add them to your collection ... but using Elements you cannot save your own shapes. For that you need the the full version of Photoshop.

But there really are lots of shapes available :)
