Is Down and Dirty Tricks any good for PSE4?
If so, is it worth getting? I have Kelby's PSE4 book and it is good.
Thanks

I have the PE3 one but not the PE4 one.
I also have D&D for photoshop 6 and 7. There really wasn't enough of a difference between the 6 & 7 to warrant having both.
I had picked up one for my kids, when they were playing with this stuff for school, and they loved it. I found the other, in one of those bargain bin type stores and figured if they liked the one then the other would be great. Very, very similar. But in Scotts defence, I don't know what I figured would be different. There were a couple of new things and maybe slightly different ways of doing them but all in all, the same content.
Kind of like going from 3 to 4 some things are not the same some are, but most of the core is the same (excluding the browser part).
All just my opinion but I hope it helps. :)

The book for Kelby's I have is a basic book. PSE4 for digital photographers.
I was hoping the DDT books would give some projects and other type of tips.
Thanks for the info.
Brent.

Hi Brent ...
The D&D books are project based ... and each tutorial leads you step by step though making something. On the way you pick up all sorts of interesting techniques and tips ..
I think its well worth getting ...

It is for PSE 3, but I thought it would work for PSE 4.

A search of the forums on "Kelby" yielded 290 posts. That's saying something!

Oh, Brent, I have a combo book of Kelbys: The photoshop elements 4 Collection: It contains The Photoshop elements 4 book for digital photographers and Photoshop Elements Down and Dirty Tricks. I picked it up at costco for $29. It is worth every penny! It is a wonderful book and it is always right at my fingertips when I am at the computer. You will love it. I cannot say enough good things about it. I use it ALL the time! Can you tell I like it??:D

That sounds great. I just wanted to make sure that sense the down and dirty tricks was for pSE 3, that it would beneficial for PSE 4.
I bought the
hidden power and
"Advanced Photoshop Elements 4.0 for Digital Photographers"
Philip Andrews
because of previous post.
They just came today, so I"ll look at them tomorrrow.
Most of the books I bought I have liked except PSE 4 gone wild. Pretty much cheesy stuff with nothing I liked. I should have returned it, but to lazy!
Thanks
Brent

Brent ...
Looks like you are going to have a lot of reading to do :)
Do let us know what you think of the two new books ...

I had a chance to look over both Hidden Power by R. Lynch and also
Advance PSE4 for dig. Photogrpahers by R. Andrews.
Both look full of advance information (not that I am advance, but just looking for more details).
Andrews book is much more colorful and a bit easier on the eyes, so I'll start with that first. Both look great for anyone looking for additional resources.
Thanks
Brent
