I am going out of my mind with frustration in trying to fix a group photo taken inside. Could someone tell me how to get it into the website, so I can ask for help. Jean

There is a lot of instructions in the Forums about this, but here is what I follow:
Save For Web
Largest dimension no more than 700 pixels
Go to http://www.pixentral.com and follow the instructions (they have a tutorial there if you need extra help).
Be sure to copy the address they give you after you upload your photo because you put that in your Thread.
There is another route that some people follow that gets the photo directly into the Thread. That I have never tried, but it is described somewhere in the Forums probably more than once.

Hi Jean ...
Just follow ATR's instructions and once we have seen the image I am sure that someone will be able to help :)

When I reduce the largest dimension to 700 pixels the photo goes to 3.7 inches by 1.7 - is that too small to be seen? Thanks for input
Is Imageshack any easier? I am on dial up, and it surely is slow. Jean

It is the pixels that count -- so 700 will make a nice sized picture for us to look at -- the other dimensions aren't really relevant in this case.

Before I loaded PSE on my PC I used a free photo editor from Irfanview. I used Irfanview for several years. Now, whenever I need to reduce a photo, for this site, I return to Irfanview. I just click on 640 x 480 and it works perfectly every time. I hope this helps - Russ

...and it does not have to be 700 pixels. But, anything between 700 and 1000 should be fine. :)

Well, that looks too long.
This photo was taken by a professional photographer and delivered this way.
I have tried the suggestions for fixing the yellow of indoors; I think some of the problem was that the flash only hit the center of the picture.
It is an important picture in my daughter 's life - her friends at her graduation as a firefighter.
Any help with this will be soooooo appreciated.

Here is the one I tried to fix. The reproduction in Pixentral is much worse than it appears on my computer.
I tried Levels; brightness/contrast; went into the RGBs and played with those. I even lassoed part of the photo and tried to lighted section by section.

Used a hue/sat adjustment layer followed by photofilter layer choosing a darker blue to help reduce the yellow -- still got a cast to it but maybe going in the right direction.

Have you tried Enhance>Adjust Color>Remove Color Cast and select the white dress on the right as a white point? This won't help with the lighting but should help with the color.
It's hard to edit and post back because on pixcentral it shows up as a GIF file. Is that how you got it from the photographer/

Good job all
The pictures true color I believe has a golden light. I do not believe it is a caste unless you want to call it one. To me the only color problem is over saturation.
I used a 300-pixel soft selection brush in mask mode to apply a selection on the lower right shadowed area. Then I inversed the selection and opened a levels adjustment layer.
I equalized the luminosity the best I could then opened another levels adjustment layer to adjust the overall picture both color and brightness and contrast.
Then I used a Hue/saturation layer to reduce the saturation but I like rich colors so I only reduce saturation a little, just enough to take the glow halos away.
With more pixels and time you could also adjust the color on the forefront people to match throughout the picture. Notice more yellow in mid to back then in front to right group. That would be easy to do when you make the initial selection. I just did not take that much time.

Well, here is my (late) version. Layer One Copy is in Screen mode, masked. I adjusted both the red and the yellow saturation. Added a bit of blue and green.

Thank you all so much for the time you put into this picture. And to Butch for the great explanation of what to do. The members of this forum are absolutely amazing at the help they are willing to give. My daughter and I really appreciate this. One of these will go into her Firefighter scrapbook. She is female firefighter No. 7 in Oahu out of 1,800 firefighters - and the oldest female to graduate recruit school. Jean
