View Full Version : Inner Shadow Tutorial

In step three where it says to double click on the type of Inner Shadow you want, I did that (and made sure I was on the Adjustment Layer), but nothing happened. Just to see if the Inner Shadow would work I double clicked when I had my picture selected and that worked. I undid that and went back to my Adjustment Layer and tried it again and still nothing. What am I missing here (except my mind) ?

Hi Litespeed ....
Are you using PSE4 ... I seem to remember that it doesn't work the same way. I'm sure that we found a workaround ... let me see if I can find it :)

That worked great -- now I just have one more question. When I type my text, it makes it kind of gray instead of black, but when the text goes onto the actual picture it is black. Is that the way it's suppose to work?

Hi Litespeed ....
Ummm usually if you type in black then it looks black all the time ... so I really don't know what could be causing that
Lets see if anyone else has any ideas :)

I did it on PSE2 and everything worked just like the tutorial said. When I used the text, it was black like it's suppose to be, anyone have any ideas why it would gray out on PSE4? :(

Well, I figured it out for myself by accident. I actually clicked on the Levels layer and started typing and it created a duplicate Text layer for me. Glad I figured that one out! Now I'm a happy camper again.:D

No - haven't decided which one I want to do next, but right now I'm going to try making something on my own. Actually someone else posted about putting pictures around the edge, so I thought I would try that. I have no imagination, so that is a bad thing  , but with all the tutorials and videos out there I will stay busy for quite awhile. Housework--what's that??? This has taken over my life temporarily.

Litespeed, what do you mean "this has taken over my life temporarily" - you don't think PSE is going to ever let you get away, do you?

Your probably right, I will never be the same--it's more additive then anything else I can image, but sure is fun. Do you know if they have anything like AA for Photoshop Elements? Not that I want to join. Maybe I can suck some other people into this so I won't be the only one at work with a stupid look on my face, thinking about all the projects I still have to learn. :D

Its when you start dreaming about projects that you start to worry :)

Oh, I thought dreaming about it was okay, it is just when you awaken from the dream in the middle of the night and go work on the project that you are in trouble...
