Feeling now about PSE3 or 4

I know this has been discussed before but now PSE 4 has been out a while. I was in Costco today and they have Elements 4 now. I am very happy with my PSE3. If I decided to go for the 4 do those that have upgraded feel it is worth it. Also, when you install it do all the downloads I have installed go to 4 or do they have to be done again. Also what about the organizer - do the photos all automatically go into 4. I am starting to get comfortable with 3 and have the pen, good photo printer and sailing along nicely. BUT - are there features in 4 that I am missing. I am noticing more and more that people are referring to PSE4 in posts. Thanks for any advice.

I have both and never open 4 because I am comfortable with 3 and all my add-ins etc. Most of what you add in 3 will work in 4 except actions. I believe there are some that are being adapted for 4 but not sure. There is talk of 5 being in testing but I don't know if anyone confirmed those rumors or not. If you are happy with 3 then I would stay put while you are still learning. The thing about 4 is that it will only come down in price, not go up so it will be there waiting when you feel like you are ready.:)

Thanks Nancy - I think I agree. After that horrible computer problem I had a few months ago it scares me to try anything new. Everything is running smoothly and I still have soooo much to learn. Well I am willing to bet you are never finished learning. I asked because I am a sucker for the latest but did hold back today. Thanks for your comments.

I agree Shari, I'm staying with 3 because I'm comfortable and I love all my add-ins. Don't want to start again and I didn't see anything in 4 worth switching for.

Maybe 5 will be more alluring if and when it is out.

I agree with you Pat. I can't see anything in 4 that I would want to ditch 3 for. In fact it would seem that in many ways 3 has more going for it......e.g. ability to use Grant's tools being a big incentive to stay with 3.

Why don't you download the trial version of PSE4? That's what I did. Tried it out for 30 days.....wasn't so impressed, am very happy with version 3, so didn't bother getting the upgrade. No regrets:)

I went from 2 to 4 and I thought there was a huge jump, but that may be because I found the forum when I moved to 4.....:D :D !

But from everything I have seen on here in the last few months, people don't seem to feel there is much of a difference between 3 and 4.

I know how you feel about adding new things to the computer!:eek: :eek:
